All of these people picking up on the word Jewel and instantly thinking about Ms. Kilcher. I thought I never would. Then I went into Blockbuster Music tonight and went up to the counter with my purchases. There along the bottom of the counter were a bunch of empty CD cases for sale. Of course, these are better known as Jewel cases, and that is what caught my eye. Thus my little experience with Jewel in the public. Something else I noticed when I walked into the store was that they were playing Robert Miles again. Seems like every time I walk in they are playing him. Wierd.

In some interviews with Jewel last year, I noticed she said she played "800 shows in the past year." On one TV show from about six months ago, the interviewer incredulously asked "Eight hundred? In one year, 365 days?" Jewel responded "yes." Far be it from me to ever doubt anything the beloved Ms. Kilcher says, but I must admit that I don't understand how she managed to average 2.2 shows a day. From everything I've seen, I realize she toured virtually non-stop (until the last couple of weeks) since the release of POY, but I've rarely seen any indication of her having played more than one show on any given day. Is she referring to her earliest club days in San Diego? And if so, isn't that stretching the "past year" reference? Anyone want to enlighten me? Thanks.
