The Rugburns Hi my angels, I just got home from Florida, and I will be leaving in less than 5 hours for Snowmass. I will be gone until next Saturday, so if you try to e-mail me, don't expect an answer until next week! Anyway, while in Florida, I had plenty of time to listen and reflect on Jewel's lyrics....as well as The Rugburns' lyrics. (while lying on the beach on Chrismas day in 80 degree, sunny weather!!) While listening to Innerchange Days I made an AMAZING observation!!!!!!!!!!! This observation was in the song..._When I was With You_. I compared this song to The Rugburns' song _Pitbull_. In WIWWY, Jewel says "...hated our landlord Harry , he was such a dick..." in _Pitbull_, Steve says "...we could buy a pitbull, name him after Harry..." Jewel then says, (not exactly...something like this...) "...the last time I saw you, you left me with a hotdog in my hand, (blah, blah blah) or because I didn't want a pitbull..." Jewel also mentions something about singing with this person in "sleazy, sleazy bar rooms". Coincidence??? You decide!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!!! If you look at all the other categories, no one has anywhere near 200 votes (with the exception of Trent Reznor (255 - - another stuffed box). As much as we all want Jewel to take the prize, there is no way Playboy will take this voting seriously. They are comparing the online vote to the snail mail vote, and I assure you Jewel is not going to win in that category. While she is the most attractive female in that category (subjective view I realize), and Playboy is a magazine for men (although the articles/interviews are outstanding), most readers are not going to choose our Lady J. So, stop stuffing! It can only hurt Jewel's chances. Here is the TRUE scoop: All those dates are rumors only. They know nothing about that Indianapolis date as of now. She did mention that they may look into doing the Japan Dylan dates, though. Jewel will possibly do a March tour of the U.S. These will be primarily colleges & small theaters. They will probably be solo acoustic & "intimate" was the word used. (VERY happy news there!) They are considering doing another month in the UK around April. Thats the general scoop. Now heres a few upcoming TV appearances not ever mentioned before: On January 7th, Jewel will be announcing nominees at The Grammy Awards live from NYC. Consult local listings for stations,etc. On January 24th, Jewel will be taping Tom Snyder's National TV show in Los Angeles & it probably airs that same night. Thats all for now. It'll be a few weeks before any more updates are available. While I have your attention, I'm also happy to say that the Online Jewel Chronology is soon approaching 500 Jewel Performances & Entries!
