It's not when the music is released but when it receives the attention. Of course, all of us know that PoY was released back then, but your everyday MTV dude just knows that WWSYS is played a lot now in 1996. It's not Jewel's fault that her stuff did not catch on until a year-and-a-half after the album was released. They are starting to annoy me, How many times can you play Sheryl Crow is an hour? (awnser 4 times!!!) How many times can you Play celine Dion in an hour? (awnser 5 times!!!) Trust me I counted! For the first time since I started watching music on tv, I am starting to choose MTV over VH1. It seems that the only good show on VH1 now is Crossroads (even though they play a lot of Cheryl Crow and Celine) Crossroads seems to be the only time they are playng Jewel on a regular basis. Has anyone seen the new show they have started called Pop-up videos? Isnt that the Cheeziest thing you have ever seen? The are using 80's sound and visual techniques with 90's videos and telling us stuff that we really dont give a damn about! Do you really care how much Toni Braxton payed for her hair extentions? or how old Janet Jackson was when she left home? I didnt think so! I dont belive that this show will last very long! Then they applauded him!!! Apparently that's forbidden normally in our British influenced government. No clapping in parliament...so what does everyone do? Stand up and clap and cheer for the man!
