Is there anyone on this list that may have seen her there? That would have been December of'94. At her last show there she wore these angel wings to standing crowd only audience. Sorry to rant to the list, I was just VERY > upset when I heard and saw this.-Toni > True, it isn't and never was satanic. But there did used to be a human sacrifice during the holiday. I don't know about the pagan, wiccan and voodoo stuff, but here's what I do know (for those that care). In 835 Pope Gregory IV declared November 1 as All Saints Day or All Hallow's Day (the word Hallow refers to saints). The day before this then is All Hallow's Evening. This was shortened to Halloween. It is believed that Halloween took the place of a day celebrated by the ancient Druids. The Druids have (or still have) beliefs in various nature deities, which may explain the pagan and wiccan connection. The Celtics (Druid descendants engaged in occult arts, worshipped nature and gave nature supernatural, animalistic qualities, etc. They worshiped the Sun God Belenus (Beltine May 1) and the Lord of Death or the Lord of the Dead on Samhain (Oct 31). On both these festivals (Beltine and Samhain) human sacrifices were offered. The Celts believed they were descended from the god Dis; this tradition handed down from the Druids. Dis was the Roman name for the god of the dead. More than 400 names of Celtic gods are known... but over 300 occur only once. Samhain as the specific name for the Lord of Death is uncertain, but it is possible that the Lord Of Death was the chief Druidic deity. No matter his name, he and other gods where worshiped during the festival of Samhain on October 31. There ya go. A very condensed version of the origin of Halloween.
