Like a fool, tonight I was sitting by my computer reading e-mail and just goofing around--totally forgetting that Jewel was on the tv just feet away from me (if I would have happened to turn it on.) So, anyway, it's 9:30 here now and I'm wodering if I've already missed Jewel's performance (or sheryl crow's for that matter.) If I did, will the special be on again. If not, what exactly did I miss...I want full details! Thanks for the help... fingers crossed that Jewel will still show up... The Pedro Zamora Foundation has postponed the concert until Nov. 22 but from what I heard it doesn't look like it is going to happen. I popped in JS tape #1 side 1 and fastforward to my favorite songs "1000 Miles Away" and "Angel Needs a Ride" with the volume up! When the song "Fish Family" was playing a huge number of guys and gals came up to me and started to haggle(chit chat) with me. Some of em asked me "Is that Jewel?" or "Who is that?" I told them who it was and said they were going to buy her cd. I met my girlfriend Stacy there after she came up to me and said "I love Jewel!! Hi my name is Stacy what's yours?" I told her who I was and we both arranged a date to see a movie and listen to Jewel afterwards. JEWEL RULES!!! hehehe Try it guys or gals. It's a great converstation piece. This summer (end of july, beginning of august, sometime around there), someone posted a notice about a poetry contest that was being done by the National Library of Poetry. I decided to enter, and I just got a message in the mail saying that it is being PUBLISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):) Who wrote that message, does anyone remember? I would LOVE to find out so i can thank them!!! there are also 70 cash prizes, the grand prize of which is $1000, and I am still in contention for that too!!!! I don't believe this, it's so amazing!!!! :) so since it is because of this list that i might one day become a famous poet (heh), i thought I would send you all my poem :) I wrote it after my first date with this wonderful, romatic guy that i met during the summer after 10th grade (a little over 2 years ago). so this is it! :) *Romance in the Moonlight* Romance in the moonlight By the cool lake waters Willows weeping with the day's newly fallen rain Crickets singing in joy, Feeling the love in the air tonight. Pairs of swams Floating lazily on the tranquil waters The gray blanket of the day's Troubled rain thinning To allow the moon To shine on romance. Lightning from beyond the horizon Brightens the sky, if only For a flash. Love is shared Between a special two In the cool romantic light Presented by the moon. - -Lauren (it's copyrighted now in my name! :)) bye everyone!!! I've been a subscriber to this list for some time now. But, I haven't had time to read all of this. So, I've got about two and a half month's worth of unread Jewel mail, which I'll sort through sometime. The most recent digest seemed to really welcome newbies, and this being my first post, I guess I qualify. I live in Philadelphia and I've been a Jewel fan since probably last December, when I saw the video for Who will Save Your Soul, ran out right after it went off the air and bought the CD, and was lucky enough to catch Jewel opening for someone (who isn't important) right down the street from my apartment the Theater Of Living Arts. Like most of you, that's all it took. I was in love (with the music, of course). But, anywho, I do have another reason for writing. I was wondering if anyone has guitar transcriptions to Jewel songs, particularly some stuff that's not on the CD - Sometimes it Be that Way and Studies in Love #12. If any of you are guitar players, you're probably just as angry as I am that those [insert explitive here] in the sheet music publishing business shut down my favorite FTP site, the On-Line Guitar Archive (OLGA). And as long as I'm here, I'll ask the question that everyone is sick of answering, I'm sure. When's the new album coming out? I hear mid-Novemeber. Truth or lies? Thanks, everyone. This means, more or less, NO YWMFM! NO CROSSROADS! Nothing after 6pm! It sucks! As if this wasn't bad enough, they add insult to injury; the Fashion Awards're on Friday! Now, anyone reading at this moment is probably thinking "Oooh, 17 year old boy, fashion awards... hmm, wonder why he's watching?"
