( Well not really ) Hi all, Some sad news...today...365 days after my encounter with a car hitting my face while riding my bike ( I was on the bike, not the car )...I got in a wreck while driving home from church ( I think it was becuz I wasn't signing along with the hymns ). Man oh man...Less than a month with my licence and I get in a wreck...my fault too...I drove right into some girl's back...Then a woman behind me hit me... I was in a Tahoe...VERY little damage! The girl was in a Dodge Regency, very little damage cuz of my quick reaction. The woman behind me was in a Nissan Pick-Up...essentially totalled...considering what happened ( No-one was hurt ) I think my car won in the strength area =) I gotta pay $75 ( Not that high when you think about it ) and go to driving school or get 4 points on my licence...driving school, here I come. Eric...is that Adrenaline rush common? Kinda makes me shiver. Did you think you were living a dream at the time too? ( Then again, you went to JewelStock...you WERE living a dream ) I noticed as it was time to leave, that I was afraid to get in my car...not just cuz of the crash...but it seemed all-consuming panic and fear. Really wierd. Probably something psychological...Same deal when I got hit while on my bike...I didn't wanna get on it for almost 16 hours! =) Thanks for listening to me ramble. \\\|/// º¿º V Mac You can call me Slunkers ( or the genius if you deem it necessary ) "It's always the same people, pissing the same people off. I completely murdered (accidentally) my computer about a week ago, and wasn't able to fix it until today. It took 20 minutes for me to download over 300 emails!!! Anyway, if you buy Launch in the extra-spiffy 8"*11" package, be sure to store the CD in a jewel case and *not* in the original package. The cardboard folder scratched mine, and wouldn't ya know it, the only thing it affected on the whole d@mn CD was WWSYS. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr......... OK, OK, after lurking around on the Jewel Digest for three weeks and trying to figure out exactly what this place is about, I finally felt comfortable enough to say HELLO! Just got back from the Boston Mix Fest, where Jewel performed a short (like 45 minutes? ... anyone?) selection of songs. I have a lousy memory (and don't own a pen) so I don't remember the set list, but my faves were a dreamy version of Satellite (now I'm reminded of a fellow named Sinjin, and I don't even know him!), Deep Water, and I'm Sensitive (when Dennis and Rachel rolled out an EDA sign in time for THE VERSE - everyone saw it!). Now for the fashion report: Jewel came on stage in a thick light blue fuzzy sweater and those funky bug-eye type of sunglasses (like Bono wore on the ZOO TV tour!). She looked VERY cool - had this ATTITUDE about her! Jewel seemed real friendly with the crowd, I love it whenever she screams "I LOVE MY LIFE!!!". (I love it, too; MY life that is!). It's great to see a performer so glad to be on stage! So I finally met some EDA's!!! And they didn't bite (though Paul tried, I think!) This is my first email list ever, and I never had a pen pal, so I'm not to used to getting to know folks over long distances. It was nice to be able to meet some of you face to face, the old fashioned way! Hmmm, lemme see, there was Dennis (thanks for the great pin and the Request!), Chris, Karen, Bill (Dog Boy?), Phil THE T-Shirt Guy (I finally got one!), Rachel, Paul Kim, and Jared (I hope I didn't forget anyone...). I gotta say that while Jewel's performance was great (TOO short though!), meeting new folks made the day soooo much more memorable. So any other newbies out there, if you have the chance to see a Jewel show with some dedicated fans like the EDA's, do it!!! (It beats standing next to Drunken, Loud Guy like I suffered through at Lupo's!). Loved the stories, guys, and I can't wait until Miss Kilcher makes her way back to New England. OK, now back to lab, until I can think of something real to say...
