I guess that there isn't a whole lot going on in the world of Jewel (perhaps I'm wrong about that, but it seems that way to me). To contribute to the current thread, I agree that it's bad form for Atlantic to put out a single of YWMFM when they could be releasing something new. But when has bad form stopped a record company from doing anything? It doesn't matter, though, since we're all going to buy the new CD anyway. I would have preferred a pre-Christmas selling, though. That way I could wheedle my parents or one of my brothers into getting it for me. :) newt Bones: You call yourself a scientist? There's a streak of mysticism running right through you. Any EDA's want to meet? I don't know where since I've never been to the venue, so someone who knows it pick a place and we'll all be there at 3, ok? I'll be wearing my Jewelstock T-shirt as well as my trademark black shorts and sunglasses. If I'm not wearing my black Oakley hat look for short brown hair. I don't bite...so please say "Hi!" I'll be going up to everyone I see in a Jewel shirt and asking if their EDA's myself, so you can't use the "I was too shy" excuse! I was right the first time. 1AM sat in Isreal - 9AM sat in Melbourne. And no I am not a drummer! :) Who has heard Jewel's interview on NPR's 'All Things Considered'. I am wondering because I may have the opportunity to purchace a copy of that days show from NPR directly. I was talking to someone with NPR and the phone a few days ago and they acted like it was possible. Was it a good interview? Any new information in it (stuff that isn't in every other interview)? Did she play any songs (knowing the show's format, probably not but ya never know)? How long was it? Any info would be appreciated. It would only cost $6 dollars but if its not worth it, them I have better things to do with $6. Finally, does anyone have any Fiona Apple stuff other than her one ablum? Boots or whatnot? I was really impressed by "Shadow boxer", the song available on Sony's and Adam's page. BTW, thank you for building the page and therefor introducing me to her music. So nice to be on the A-list! :-) Or is that the A-Team??? Ack, sorry, couldn't resist. Shame on me. **** The list is probably just suffering from a trough in a regular cycle that repeats itself... next you can expect a influx of about 20 newbies all posting 20 messages about NJC all at once. Then it will quiet down again. Enjoy it while it lasts. :-) **** Does anyone know what label Metallica is on?? Well anyway, as I recall, their newest album had about half of the album's songs released to the radio stations _before_ the cd was released. Kinda excessive but it got a lot of the country boys to buy the cd. (Out here in Hicktown, USA that's a miracle) What if Atlantic released a song off of the new album to the radio stations and then released the single along with YWMFM on the same cd? The people looking for YWMFM would get a taste of the new stuff even if they hadn't heard it on the radio yet. l8r, Chris ------------------------------ From: Leave the shadows dancing Date: Mon, 07 Oct 1996 23:41:37 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Re: Live internet show Morgan- Like I've said three times so far. I have not had a chance to write anyone back yet.. things are still pretty hard on me at the moment, but I thought I'd give an update to all those who cared about me and wrote. Just yesterday (sunday), the owner of a MAJOR computer corporation personally came up to me and hired me to be a consultant/web master for the company. He said he had heard about me and my skills, and didn't need to see what I could do, he just hired me and bought me a computer so I could stay caught up with the company technology wise. This was a major help to me and my situation obviously. One thing at a time, I'm sure, things will get better. And I really thank God you people are here to help people like me. Yeah, I know WMAX would play it. I have never heard them play WWSYS but I have heard them play "Have A Little Faith In Me" Unfortunately right now I don't have their number. They never announce it on air and I don't currently have access to a updated phonebook to check it out. They are a fairly new station. I will post it tomorrow if you don't post it first.
