It was recorded for Westwood One Radio's In Concert show that is syndicated out to radio stations across the continent. Don't worry, someone (dan?) is working on making a tape out of the actual disc sent out by westwood one to radio stations and also early generations of the tape taken from WBCN's master of the show (they broadcast the show as it happened that night). The Westwood one show is only 45 minutes and only has some of the songs from that night's concert; the WBCN master has the whole concert in its entirety, although I understand that the Westwood One recording is better mixed. Just a reminder that you may want to watch VH1 Crossroads this week. Because of the new CD release, VH1 will be airing the live performances on Crossroads. If you haven't seen the live performance of _Foolish Games_ that aired back in January(I think) you have to see it...I have it on tape and all I have to say is "WOW". I am not sure which night it will be aired, but I suggest keeping your VCRs ready. There will also be a CD release party on Saturday, so you might want to check that out too. NJC! - + Poe comment Patti is playing on the 14th, I think, at the Irving Plaza, opening for Midnight Oil--a band I personally have no desire whatsoever to see. This would have caused a loyalty conflict, except that I discovered tonight that the show is sold out--so Tom, unless you already have tickets, don't sweat it. I'd like to catch the November show, though. Saw Poe tonight: an excellent show. Pure opened, and was noisy and fun. The second band was a new one for me, Eels, from Echo Park, CA, and they were astounding. Poe cooked (I was more into Band #2, actually, but so it goes) and the crowd was very cool for the Plaza. Much water was flung, and she rode around on the crowd for a while being pretty thoroughly pawed. No encore. The CD contains an edited version of the Boston show. I believe a full version of it is circulating around here for free somewhere. $75 is highway robbery. That's double the price of most CDs in bootleg shops. For some reason I think of this one as more black market than STL or Phyllis Barnabee. Certainly it's more rare, as Westwood probably just pressed enough copies to service the stations who buy that show. What is Southland anyway?
