If I had gone, you would have heard me on the JS tapes. I would have been the one that walked up on to the stage and yelled out, "Does anyone know the jerk who owns the yellow BMW bike that is parked in the handicap zone? Please move it". >> I am not defending this, or encourage people to be inconsiderate but I just wanted to point out my opinion. The spot was not hardly of any great benefit those who might need such. I mean it was still quite a distance from the venue enterance and on gravel. It was more in the handicapped "area" than in a handicapped spot. Also, and again this isn't to defend rude behavior, but it was a very nice bike and I didn't see another place he could have parked with out being either in the unmanned, unmarked gravel lot, or in the way of the venue and people working. Last, I am not sure either he or the bike was there for the whole show. I mean he didn't park there at 5:00pm and then move a 12:00am. (I could be wrong here and I am open to corrections). They did some nice work on the masters. Also, without our own Skinny Pete & crew, some of the material would have been unavailable or inaudible. Because of him, the parts missing or inaudible on the Bearsville tapes, are intact on ours. And I can't say enough about Mike's tolerance for organizing us & getting things done! To be honest, administrating this distribution scared the sh*t outta me! Thanks for the kind words, though. Its definately my PLEASURE to have been part of this! In my list of favorites, I gave Alex Chilton. For 10 points can any one remember the song he sang as a sixteen year old and what group he was in? It was a big hit. After the big hit, he was in a group that had a few albums. They are IMHO the best albums that somehow slipped through the cracks and never achieved any success. Name that group. It wasn't until many years later that I got to see Alex play live. It was at the famous NYC club, CBGB's. Mike Connell reminded me of the club in a post of his. As I tried to think of a reply, that show with Alex Chilton kept going through my head. I went out that day looking for any available CD's. Thanks to Mike's NJC, I now am a happy owner of 19 Years:a collection of Alex Chilton. One more. This ones easy. Stevie Winwood also had a big hit when he was 16. Name the group and song and the group he later was with starting in the late 60's. Both Alex Chilton and Stevie Winwood were the lead singers. If you respond to anything I write, be sure to CC a copy to me since I won't be able to read it from the list. My first return will likely be a review of the Big Fresno Fair, assuming I manage not to kill myself and my passengers on the late-night drive back to Santa Cruz (can someone named Crash Boy really have a sidekick?). I think my story from the May 3rd Bimbo's show may still rank as the best message I've ever written -- as well as the longest -- so I've got my work cut out for me. EPILOGUE (The BIG P.S.) As much as our musician and our group may evolve -- or de-evolve whenever smoking and NJC are brought up -- you can always count on one thing to remain constant through the passage of time: I will forever pretend that I catch Jewel Kilcher's eye, even when I am singing along to "Absence of Fear" from Row Double-Z. We are the few, the proud, the EveryDay Angels.
