Before mastering the tapes, I spent a lot of time noting exactly where humorous things like this occurred. When I made the Jewelstock Production Masters, I made a point to run between song banter(only) through limiting & compression so these things became MUCH MORE audible than they would have been without it. Cool, I have 9 acceptances already. All generally within hours of Metro NY. I hope others show up. This is pretty overwhelming actually. Um, I want to offer my house if people need a place to stay. But, depending on numbers I don't know how feasible this is. There are hotels on Staten Island which would probably be much cheaper than Manhattan. Severeral versions have come out over the last few years with Atlantic Artist a lot less prominent than Jewel so I assumed the fact we got to this point in the year without Hiranya telling us that Jewel was participating in one for this year meant that Jewel doesn't do Christmas. I would not say this was a great time in her career for a full album of Christmas but I would suspect a maxi-single with Angel Standing By, a cover of some old standard Christmas song selected for its ability to show off the Jewel voice and a new-for-occassion original would be a seller worth the Atlantic effort. I'd buy it.
