Musicians are like philosiphers (sp?) they attempt to explain the unexplainable in language that everyone can understand. Has anyone ever truely understood their physics teachers but listening to songs like "Houdini'd Box" by Jill Sobule (listening to it right now) or "Infinite and Unforseen" by k.d.lang attempt to explain the wonders and mysteries of love. I know several engineers, what with going to an engineering school, and alot of them have no clue about love or how the other sex works, and most of them do not listen to music like the above, manly alterny-rock and techno. Many of them also don't read anything beyond the sports page. I can't begin to tell all of what I have learned about life, love, and human nature from the words of Dante, Chaucer, Dumas, Wells, Richard Adams, D. H. Lawrence, and scores of others. I thought all of the OceanCresters would like to read this... >>>>Over a week has elapsed since our last notes for the road and I believe we were on route from New York to Northampton to open a show for Jewel when I signed off. That turned out to be quite a gig. The venue, the Casino Ballroom in Hampton beach, was just that. A big ball room with room for 2,000, and it was full. That show has so far been a highlight of the tour as we got an amazing reception from the crowd which of course reflected back on the band, and made us play with renewed vigour and intensity, and made the difference between a good gig and a great one. Thanks to all you people who have contacted the website as a result of that one. Jewel did an amazing set spurred on also by the amazing response of the crowd. <<<< BTW, I was at Hampton Beach on Saturday, and I walked by the Ocean Rest a couple of times. The first time I whined to my parents- "We were all UP there on the PORCH and there was a PARTY and we sat around and LISTENED to the show OVER again and now they're not UP there anymore... *waaaaaaaah*" The second time I walked by, my dad said, before I could say a word - "Write them when we get home and tell them that you showed up for the concert, where was everybody?" Drunken Irish Poem for Christina Caughel I've seen a sight you'd die for, lads. I've seen the green-eyed angel. I've touched her face and held her hand. I've often dreamt about it. She's a wood nymph, lads. She's a faerie princes. And her charms work quite well. She's a pretty girl. She's a tomboy beauty. And her charms work quite well. I remember, lads, the smell of her hair; Springtime apples and grass. I remember, lads, the sound of her laugh; So child-like and innocent. I remember, lads, the force of her tackle; She was a tough lass to play with. I remember, lads, the look of her eyes; Mischievous and sensual. I've seen a sight you'd die for, lads. I've seen the green-eyed angel. I've touched her face and held her hand. I've often dreamt about it. But the sight, you see, was not for me, And the lass has found another. I'm glad I got to see her, lads, But I know I'll not ever forget her. So lift yer glasses and give us a cheer! I've seen the green-eyed angel!
