I just saw Susan Werner for the fourth time. I thought that it would be a nice performance, but it was superb. She keeps surprising me with each new performance. My oh my. So witty and fun and talented with a beautiful voice. She did two encores, with the last one being the Carmen Aria. She was training to be an opera singer before she got into popular music, and it showed:) Anyone who has an interest in a warm voiced woman with smart touching lyrics and a folky, bluesy, jazzy turn with pop appeal, please check her out. And hey, I got to yell out that I sat in the Batmobile, and she asked how and I said that I worked at the museum that was displaying it:) I hope that we can definately get her here in September. EDA's, I sent the EMAIL below to a select few JewelStockers, most of whom have told me to post it to the list. It was rated "R", and has been PG-18'd for the list posting. Parental Guidance is not really necessay, but might not hurt. First, to make the EMAIL a bit more understandable, a little factual history on the Bearsville Players, whom all roomed together at the now defunct PineCrest Lodge. (The Bossy-Bossy's were in an attached cabin) Bill Goodliff: Bill handled arranging lodging info for JewelStock and was one of the two dudes selling t-shirts at JewelStock. He's been known to pant like a hound dog while chasing women, hence the nickname DawgBoy. Richard (Akira) Chang: A rather tiny lad, known by his ex-close friends at JewelStock as Little Dickie Chang. He let us all know (quite often I might add), that while on his way to JewelStock, a gal in a Porsche(?) was flirting with him all the way up the Thruway, much like Christie Brinkley flirted with Chevy Chase in "National Lampoons' Vacation". BTW, his birthday was the day of the Thursday show, Jewel knew it (Rich, HONEST!!), but Lenedra told me after Friday's show that Jewel had just told her that she "forgot to mention Akira's birthday again". Dennis Harris: Well, no need to explain anything here I guess. Mike Connell: has quite apparent memory lapses, such as insisting there were three encores at the Thursday JewelStock show, even going so far as to say he'd change his name to Harris if he was wrong. Mr & Mrs Alan "Bossy-Bossy" Bershaw: Alan, the archive master of all Jewel recorded media, was forever immortalized with the name "Mr Bossy-Bossy" by one Miss Jewel Kilcher, for insisting quite loudly that Jewel sing "Carnivore", to which she retorted to him some thing that ended with "Mr. Bossy-Bossy". Alan, who RIGHT NOW has the master tapes of the concerts, is likely to use his machinery to lower his voice on the tape, but those of us that were there know he was heard in the next county. Bill & Dennis: just two days after JewelStock, posted some EMAILs on the list that made it seem like (but not flat-out state) they, along with Mike (me), had lunch Saturday with Jewel and Lenedra at the Little Bear Chinese Restaurant next to the venue. Most of the list-members at JewelStock remembered that on Friday night, Jewel had jetted out of the state, but some (This is TRUE!!), notably Phil Kelnhofer, Dan Stark(!!!) and Akira (Who phoned me and said "You b*stards, you LUCKY b*stards"), bought it hook, line and sinker.
