Her first album isn't that good. It was produced by Todd Rundgren (no knock on him since he's pretty cool), but it is quite a slick, generic pop album. Her second album (from which Kissed a Girl and Karen By Night come) is pretty good and much more guitar based than the other. I've missed seeing her live twice and a half (the half being she played at Amherst College the year before I came here), but I have heard her perform Live at the World Cafe and liked her performances on the radio. Why did you (Liz not piggy) not like her performance? She's great live (so I've heard from live shows) - she has sing-a-longs with the audience, and tells lots 'o storys, similar to what Jewel does... You should definitely check her out... Eagle Quality center had just givin it's grand opening and was staging a band who did cover songs. Before the bands performance, the store held a yodeling concert, coincidently, "jewels" just happened to be around. If i knew her abilities, I probably wouldn't have yodeled against her, never the less her voice was just as powerfull and full life as it is now. Following her Homer career, she inspired a number of individuals to succeed. From the bars at the Down East Saloon to California she continues her timelsess inspirations of experiences and philosophy, creating and moving mountains. Her powerfull voice towered over my misunderstanding of yodeling that day, she trully is the best. From Homer, Alaska, thanks for all the insperations. Tony P.O.
