My luck. For those who don't know Jann, she is also an A&M artist like Patty (when Mike C. said an A&M artist possibly opening my first thoughts went to Jann, seeing as how most attending would probably enjoy her). Jann's voice is VERY similar to Patty's. (If I didn't know it was Patty opening @ JS then after hearing, I would've said that it was Jann Arden even if I was 1st row). Jann's background instruments are more layered than Patty's solo guitar. Jann's album (Living Under June) best 3 are : "Could I Be Your Girl" (Canadian Juno winner for song of year I think), "Looking For It (Finding Heaven)" & "Unloved" (duet w\ Jackson Browne). Jewel. Piglet sent a kinda confusing post about Patty (is that supposed to be an 'i' or a 'y') Griffin. First, Jane Kelly Williams played here at Amherst last fall and was pretty cool and fun. Nothing too outstanding, but I got her album anyway. Second, Jonatha Brooke and the Story. Amherst alum along with Jennifer Kimball. I'm going to see her twice in two weeks, free both times and am working on getting her to play here this fall. And I don't think she sounds like Jane Kelly. Third, why do people compare other artists to Alanis? Doesn't that automatically put a mark of disapproval on that artist? Oh hell, I just pissed off the Alanis fans here. On with the abestos suit. Great, now I'll get cancer. This is something that Kyle sent me, bless his everlovin' heart: OKAY THAT'S IT! You must be a real charmer there, Kyle, because me, Dennis, Ken Winchenbach, Steve Melisi (where the hell has he gone. You out there?), Chris Moynihan, and Bill insert-his-last-name-here could barely get a game smile out of her. Of course dennis did almost assault her and scare the bejeezus outta her. And she was tired. and sick. Just wanted to point out that you bested us all. And about that WBCN tape. I guess that it's finally being broadcast across the nation by Westwood one radio. Keep in mind that all those different names such as Tuesday Night Live and whatever are probably names done by each radio station for their concert series, but everyone will probably be getting the same Westwood One concert. I know that 99.3 here in Northampton, MA carries these concerts Sundays around 9 pm. And it was only 45 minutes on the radio? Hm, the tape I have is almost a full 90 minutes. I wonder what they cut out? Oh, I reiterate that the show will probably be treed in the near future. Carter the pirate wrote: Hm. Seven was okay. My friend and I were both in hysterics at the end where Brad Pitt is pointing the gun at Kevin Spacey and overacting his disgust so much that he looks funny. The rest of the movie was very grim and gritty and gross. I like Reservoir Dogs (hmm...clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right. Sounds like what Jewelstock will be like). Have not seen Taxi Driver, Rambling Rose, or etc. I love Red to death. Irene Jacob is beautiful. Schindler's List isn't something that I can watch again and again like Red. I'll stop my video review here. Chris wrote about Jann Arden and Patty Griffin that they did an instore. I read that they are doing instores at every tourstop at a Border's. That means in Philly tonight, and in Boston on Wednesday. In case anyone was interested. Oh, and some might know Jann from her sleeper hit Insensitive. Personally, I don't like the song. I do love Could I Be Your Girl, however. Her previous release before Living Under June (which is too poppy and slick for me overall) was Time for Mercy, i think, in 1993. When's the last time we had a top ten list of fav artists or albums? I can't remember.
