As for Jewelstock (I hate that name for some strange reason) I hope to see you on Thursday, if I make it until then. There are some unexplainable things in life that might cause my early demise before then... Like exactly why do people driving huge trucks like to get on parkways that have signs that say, "No Trucks," ligned up and down them? And why do all truck drivers look like the stereo-typical truck driver? Do they send them to school to teach them how to chew on a toothpick? Another thought for you (I am non-sequetor girl): Why is Singled Out the biggest thing on TV? Is it all the girl? Or is it the idea? And why does MTV only play shows and not music? And why is VH-1 starting to show less music too? OK, yesturday I finally finished spinning for newbies and am ready to adopt a new bunch.... As long as no one writes me and asks me how they can get in touch with "Jewel" -- the band. Like she's Belly or someth. Kind of like Van Halen. I'm not sure where people got that notion from. Maybe it's me, but if you don't know that Jewel is a person, I have no idea why you're on a whole net about her... The song alone is worth the price of the CD. Plus it's for a great cause. Well, That's all for now. Can't wait til Jewelstock. I'd love to be wearing a tag to Jewelstock that says "Hello, My name is" and then have "Skinny Pete" written in in crayon. Of course I'd like to be wearing lots of things not directly accepted by society. It's not like I had the damn bra on BACKWARDS or anything. Geez. - Skinny Pete P.S. Is there some sort of abbreviation for "post script"? P.P.S. Well, here at the east coast, it is now 11:34pm. I have VH1, and they are now up to J. They are in the middle of showing Micheal Jackson videos. I can only assume that Jewel will be coming up sometime after 12am Sat here. I have to work tomorrow(ugghhh), but I plan on taping VH1 from 12am to as long as the tape will run. I'll e-mail you back sometime tomorrow to let you know what I got. Hang in there! Hi, I'm up here in NY and am new to the litserv. I have just recently spent a few hours surfing the net and visited every Jewel site I could find. I thought all my questions about Jewel would finally be answered but on the contary, I have a ton of other questions. I've been following Jewel for a long time now, and have heard of her demo albums but I don't have a copy of them. If any one out there would be cool and make me a dub of everything about Jewel that exists, I would be eternally grateful. I'll even supply the tape or buy the CD. Also what is all this stuff about Jewelstock I keep hearing about? Where, When, and how much is it? Well, I got to go, Thanks to anyone who can E-mail me info or would privately E-mail info on getting a copy of all of Jewels stuff. I am coming alone and I have already imagined walking into this venue recognizing no one, but knowing several. I know it's probably another detail that the generous organizers shouldn't need to worry about, but still it would be nice. Perhaps somebody else on the list could get forwarded a list of Confirmed RSVP's and their respective dates and do it themselves. It does sound kind of dorky, "Hi and welcome to the JewelStock Convention!! Here is your nametag and proceed to the right for complimentary refreshments....", but nonetheless would be kind of cool. Anyway, a thought. Jon ------------------------------ From: Karl M Fields Date: Sat, 6 Jul 1996 01:00:25 -0400 (EDT) Subject: she's gonna be on VH1 soon its 0100 EST and the just played Jesus Jones.
