My apologies to Alan, and everyone who has been waiting for this tape. With Jewelstock and a few other things I've been diverted with, it seems I've been moving a bit slowly with the L.A. tape. It is very good quality, and I'm working right now to get all the dubs and sites ready as soon as possible so everyone here can enjoy it. I just wanted to let you all know it hasn't been forgotten. Most of the time VH1 and MTV cut to the next video before letting WWSYS run all the way through. But on "The Box" they show everything and she fades away from the restroom. That's the only version I've seen. Anyone notice that Jewel is the only artist (or the only I've paid much attention to) that looks good from her right side of her face as well as her left side. Most people have only one good side. And you can see how some artist are so insecure about it, ie, Mariah Carey. Look at her videos (especially the one she directs) and 99% of it just shows the right side of her face. First of all. ;) I'm new to this list, I've been on it a week or so.. I'm 14 (almost 15, birthday is at the end of the month.), live in South Florida and I started liking Jewel when I saw her video on tv late one night. My brother had told me about her before, but I didn't hear the music so I was like, um, ok. :) Then I listened to the video (turned to it in the middle of the song), and I was like, "wow.". Anyway.. I was just wondering.. Has anyone else not been able to see her because of your age? When she came down here, she was only playing at one place (a club), and it was 18+ (ticketmaster said).. When I called the club, they said 21+ (and I asked especially for that night..). And also.. I have a friend in NJ (same age), who couldn't go because of the same age thing. So, I just wanted to know if this had happened to anyone else, and also, if Jewel realizes that it um, well, sucks for the younger fans? I can understand why she does clubs, you realy are closer to the fans/artis. But when I go to concerts at smaller venues like clubs, they make it all ages for that night. Well, thanks for listening. ;) Sarah O/ s p y f l o w e r \O <| |> / \ http://www.freenet.scri.fsu.edu/~sarahec / \ ------------------------------ From: Lisa Schiller Date: Wed, 03 Jul 1996 05:25:21 -0500 Subject: Angel Needs A Ride (To JewelStock) Here is the updated carpool list for JewelStock - please let me know if any information is incorrect or incomplete. I asked if he could play without his band for a smaller fee. I never thought he would even call me back. Not only did he call me back but insisted on playing for free. He even wrote a song for the show that he never performed again, only because of how personal and touching it was. Lets not forget that the artists we all love so much are human.
