(i hope so anyway. ill tell him about it the next time i see him and will gladly pay him whatever royalty he thinks is fair. probably a pint of guiness and a shot of whiskey and he'll be alright. hopefully those who have not heard them before will use this as a reason to buy their cd's. they are quite good. as for the wiz songs, i didnt know they were available, i cant find a cd of the show anywhere. the tracks on this disc are taped off of the tv show, not any cd release. anyway, sorry to write so much. ive e-mailed my address to those ive contacted so far. again, i will get to you. thanks jeff ------------------------------ From: Chopped Liver Date: Sat, 22 Jun 1996 00:53:26 -0600 (MDT) Subject: Re: jewel on friday night conert!!!! I've got some bad news about my Jewel page, Everyday Angels. My Web provider, Nebula.net, is going under as of June 30th. This means that Everyday Angels will be disappearing for a while, until I can find a new home for it. I'm going to look into getting an account with an area ISP, hopefully one that will let me keep the full gallery, etc. I'm really sorry about this. I've enjoyed being able to give something back to the Jewel community in the form of my site, and it's really frustrating knowing that I won't be able to provide as much. I only learned of this today (they gave us about a week of warning). I'll let you all know when I've found a new home for Everyday Angels. Usually only "rabid" fans will want to hear twenty variations of the same song to find a new twist or style applied by the artist. Jewel fans fit this category. These "rabid" fans will STILL purchase every commercial mainstream release by the artist, and casual fans will usually buy the commercial release and often have little patience for defects found in less polished boots. I don't think boots of live shows really take much market share from the artist if the artist isn't in that market in the first place! On the other hand, live or "unplugged" commercial release albums always seem to sell well to both casual and rabid fans. So what's my point? 1) I buy live boots of artists I like if the artist/label doesn't have the guts to produce one themselves. I'll buy a commercial live release even faster. 2) I don't buy used CDs of artists I want to support (UNLESS it is no longer available, such as the mythical, elusive * Save The Linoleum *). 3) Pulling commercial material that is still available for sale and recompiling it for financial gain hurts the artist. No ifs, ands or buts. 4) Regardless of who it does or does not hurt, who likes what, etc...we live in world that litigation, not reasoning, has the last word. Just my opinion. - -- Dennis ddhaoc@aol.com ------------------------------ From: changph@ctrvax.Vanderbilt.Edu (Po) Date: Sat, 22 Jun 1996 12:31:47 -0500 (CDT) Subject: Re: The Blues Brothers Connection > > >I was watching "The Blues Brothers" last night, and I noticed something >that I thought was cool.
