A few weeks back the "great does jewel smoke debate" occurred here...and Hiranya settled it once and for all. jewel does not smoke. in fact, she is allergic to smoke and sometimes has trouble in smokey venues. So obviously none of us will even consider smoking at jewelstock. :) Now some of you will say..."hey, there's a picture of jewel smoking on one of them there web pages!!!!" But that really is a picture of jewel sucking a grape lollipop...she is not smoking. So many newbies must have missed the threads a few weeks back explaining that jewel does not smoke anything. :) thanks for listening!!! i cringe having to re-read similar threads that have been beaten to death before...but if you were not on the list, you wouldn't know. :) peace, dave ------------------------------ From: diciccda@saber.udayton.edu Date: Mon, 10 Jun 1996 12:35:22 -0400 Subject: possible dates for jewel-stock Hi All! unless i am hallucinating from the large volume of posts, i would swear that Hiranya posted yesterday saying that jewel-stock would need to be scheduled between July 10 and July 30 did i misread or misunderstand Hiranya's message??? i don't thimk that we can really "vote" for dates...i think it is more up to Lenedra and Jewel! call me crazy...but i think we all need to work around jewel's schedule we can't expect her to accept a date we force upon her :) peace, dave diciccda@saber.udayton.edu ------------------------------ From: Thomas D Silak Date: Mon, 10 Jun 1996 12:43:57 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Re: Fires in Alaska I looked at the map and it doesn't look like the fire will affect here. Notes: - The three D chords at the beginning are referred to as D1,D2, & D3 to make it easy for me to write this out. - The D and d are abbreviations for the mess at the end of each measure. Play this progression quickly: D = D1 D2 D1 D3 Play this progression slowly: d = D3 D1 D3 D1 D3 D1 - The bridge. You're thinking, "What the hell is that?!" I'll explain. The 'F A' is easy. The 'A# AA'. Play the sharp normally. The 'AA' means two quick short A chords. The 'A#m-A#m'. Two quick, short A#m chords, then pick a few notes. Then go directly to the strummed F chord.
