Greg i don't know where the hell(expletive used for emphasis here. Sorry if i offended anyone. It's part of my vocabulary) you got this information. Anyway i saw tori and she did fine with MAAG. It was kinda strange of her to end the regular set with it and to put it right after the Talula (tornado Mix) but once people realized she was doing it they shut up. It was almost as quiet as the theater was during Mission Impossible when Tom Cruise was hanging into that room. Those are the last two times i've been completely struck by the silence in an audience. Also i have a bootleg from 1994 when some dork screamed some shit during me and a gun. He was told to shut up by almost everyone else in the theater and tori was able to start again. ALSO "chime bells" is MOST CERTIANLY NOT "Me And A Gun" Chime bells is a joke song... it's a song lots of people love and come to see and hear. "Me and a Gun" is so far above it on an emotional scale and is very emotionally draining obviously. She herself has said that healing is a life-long process. "Me and a Gun" has helped many other women to face their horrendous past and continue on with their life. Everyone on Really Deep Thoughts knows the stories i'm talking about. So for tori to not play "me and a gun" would mean them losing out. She cares about her fans too much for that. Robb wrote: >but on VH1 she debuted at #8 on their top ten You mean #9. Guess the two tidbits the host guy threw out about her? Alaska and the yodeling. I'm suprised! Guess who debuted at #10? Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. Great song... See mision impossible! Someone trying to make a buck said: >We have the lowest prices around for T-shirts (only $18,95 >*including* setup fees, designing etc for a white tee, L or XL) This is not true. MY dorm made t-shirts this past year for $8 each and we only made a total of 100. If we make say 2 or 3 hundred it might be cheaper. Say, how many people are on this list anyway? I didn't say either that jewel had to be a political activist, although she could seeing as how she's already very popular. How does saying something at a concert make her an activist. I was merely annoyed at the "i don't care about anything cause it all SUCKS" attitude that i got from hiranya's post. I'm sure you aren't endorsing complete apathy... You just said to do what you can. Well there is a lot she could do. She doesn't have to of course. It's her opinion. But since she seems to be wanting to make this world a better place politics is one way to do it. >And just because you're not as >politically informed as the people on the news DOESN'T mean you can't >make jokes about politics. I didn't say she can't make jokes. Anyone can make jokes although it does help to have some reasoning behind your claims. "Bob Dole is an asshole" has some validity to it so that's okay to say. "Bob Dole is stupid cause he's from South Dakota on the other hand while maybe getting a laugh is not true. She has to have some knowledge to make jokes and she does. >That should be everyone's right as a citizen >of this country (or any other country for that matter). When you pass a >law that says I can't make jokes, THAT'S when I'll become a political activist. When voting counts as political activism is when i'll be sick! Someone forwarded this from the Cranberries list: >She has nothing on Dolores, her looks, Ha, I think dolores is BUTT UGLY. She is along with jewel a very good vocalist. Her lyrics don't do much for me but i like the cranberries. Anyway i was wondering when we were going to see this kind of stuff posted from their list. It's just okay for $4, but more like a rental when everything else is chacked out, and you're really bored and really want to see a movie. They play quite a bit of Under the Water. Unlike many songs where they only play a small bit, like on a car stereo as someone drives for ten seconds, they played the first verse, a chorus and the main music for a while. It was hard for me to listen to the dialogue. I don't know if it was because of the mix, or because i was singing along. Good thing I saw a matinee in an otherwise empty theater. Toni, I'll tell you more later. But this is a teaser. Next up, I Shot Andy Warhol. And I'm panting for Phenomenon. Trying to make yourself seem old and important again, huh?) from South (or was it North) Dakota. I kinda felt sorry that Leno and Nealon were basically using them as butts of their own little jokes and the girl seemed a bit overwhelmed. She was purty (kinda loks like someone I know here at Amherst). So, Jewel. That was a fun reinterpretation of WWSYS. The bass guitar sound was wacky, a little to plinky for me; it will have to grow on me. Those were the counting crows guys right? minus two or so people. Still was pretty fun. And she seemed to really be in control of the whole thing. I got the impression that she was working out some frustration in the song, perhaps over the HFS incident. And then at the end of the show when Leno had her yodel, she couldn't get a word in edgewise about how she doesn't want to yodel. What a trooper, though, to keep on smiling and have fun (didja hear her laughter in the marriage license bit between her performance and the end segment?) I bought the WWSYS cd single (it comes in funky packaging the likes which I have never seen before) for 3.49, same price as the cassingle. Just wanted the picture which I think is a blowup of just her face from the cassingle, which I think has more than just her face on it. Like that made any sense. Hey carter, I checked out your website today. Nice t-shirt design, though it is a bit goofy to have a guitar with wings. And the rest of the site is fun, too. I like the llama (or is it a camel).
