There are probably others but I forget for now. Or maybe that was just her singing so hard it hurt :). Wow. When I had heard that WWSYS was on MTVs top 20 (or is it 40) I couldn't believe it. Not because it's great, but because that song has been on our local Cleveland radio stations since last fall. Is it really taking that long for Jewel-fever to make the mainstream? (I went to see Belly in October with Jewel as the opening act. I remember saying to myself, "So SHE is the one who sings that Save Your Soul song!") We've got a couple of "modern-rock" format radio stations here in Cleveland they are constantly ridiculed (at least among those I've talked to) as being incredibly lame, cheezy, and mainstream... is it possible that they are actually ahead of the bandwagon as far as Jewel is concerned? They started playing 'You Were Meant for Me' about 1 1/2 months ago, too. Are any other stations around the US playing YWMFM? I am new to the list and would like to say Hi! :) I am 15 live in by Seattle Washinton. I love Jewel. I had heard her on radio but never really listened to song I then saw video on MTV the next day and listened. I think she is the most beautiful person on the planet and has the sweetest beautiful voice ever. I love her so much. I would like any information on her and upcoming concerts in Washington state. Thank you so much. ------------------------------ From: ALalas@aol.com Date: Wed, 29 May 1996 21:48:55 -0400 Subject: Re: music and Digital Arena Kevin wrote: >When I'm not listening to Jewel I enjoy running, sports, and lots of a variety >of other music (and I do mean a variety- everything from The Cranberries to >the Wu-Tang Clan). "The wu-tang clan ain't nuthin to fuck with" i don't listen them too much. My roomate did but The Fugees are a really cool rap-reggae crossover. Wondering does anyone on this list listen to techno? I have not been for a while but it seems to be the most different music that i listen to personally. Maybe the furthest from Jewel... But I appreciate it just as much. Well the Clan is pretty far rom Jewel too. >For those wondering how to download the .ram from Atlantic Record's >Digital Arena, I think I may have stumbled on to the answer. I know this is the jewel list but, you blasphemer! : ) C-ya angels later Jake p.s. Rafa What the heck did you expect at a concert like that? I guess that hat thing was pretty shitty but that's how big concerts are... p.p.s. To the guy who said jewel will play her next tour in a stadium. NOT Maybe small arenas at the biggest. Any bigger and it would not be worth it at all. ------------------------------ From: jeffw (Jeff Wasilko) Date: Wed, 29 May 96 20:24:27 EDT Subject: Administrivia (re: smoe.org) At some point next week the smoe.org domain will be moving to a new internet provider. This move should be transparent to you, although there is a small chance that mail might bounce en-route to smoe.org during this transition. If it does, please wait an hour or so and try again. I will send out a reminder the day before the move is scheduled to happen. This change will allow my servers to be on the internet 24 hours a day, so I'll be able to provide ftp and WWW access to the archives. It will also mean faster email delivery. Again, this change should be 100% transparent--the list addresses will not be changing. - -Jeff ------------------------------ From: Piglet Date: Thu, 30 May 1996 00:01:34 +0600 Subject: hey... The radio station WBCN aired the show and stated that the show was being recorded for a Westwood One show that would be broadcast over the country in a few weeks. Does anyone have any information on that? When it will be aired? The show was great and I'd love to have it on tape. Any help would be, well, very . . . helpful. This is sort of an uncool thing for a Canadian music fan to say (they were cool here before their CD came out, but since then have been regarded as being a teenybopper type band), but Moxy Fruvous are a really talented and incredibly entertaining (and hugely funny) band, especially live. And yes, "Green Eggs and Ham" is a total riot. Unfortunately they didn't include it on their first CD (I don't have their second one, is it on there?) but I have it on the indie tape they put out before their first CD came out. I highly recommend this show to all NY area jewel fans. I wish the Rugburns were opening for Moxy here in Toronto!
