The article was a question/answer thing and very interesting... Here are some things Jewel said in summary: - -how her mom called her up and told her she sold 9,000 one week and she sat down and cried - - talked about Interlochlen, study of opera and blues - - talked about how she studied acting - - talked about how her brother is now writing and singing - - talked about how she studied and taught philosophy - - talked about how she's dyslexic - - talked about Ben Keith - - talked about her new album... late summer/early fall - - talked about her songs and poems If you're interested in getting a photocopy email me Kim "Don't call him up... WETTER by Tali *My angel showers *My angel never sings *He's my weakness *He makes me wetter Im all better My heart soaks his clothes He doesn't mind His fingers are water Wet and kind *And he sings *He makes me wetter *Suddenly !!! Glass breaks *I can't dry *I'm so in love *Make me wetter *Tears are yours *Glass breaks (Ohh..)And he sings He makes me wetter. I'm aware that its not any where near the best thing you guys have read but e mail me and tell me what you think. also please remember that i sing this so the peotry is alot more alive and passionate and the rhythm is set up by my strumming on the guitar. try humming your own melody to it. it may sound better. ps. im reading it now and i realize that the term "wetter" may seem crude to some but be assured that when i wrote it nothing of the sort was part of the intantion of the song. Thanks for reading. I've enjoyed talking to you all. I'd love to here from more of you. My husband Alan asked me to mention that he is currently looking for any tapes of a band called Ivy from NYC and Sam Phillips. If any of you have any tapes by either, he'll be happy to trade, too. -----AmyJo ------------------------------ From: "Mark Anthony Miazga" Date: Thu, 11 Apr 1996 20:48:01 -0400 (EDT) Subject: favorite five songs > Another thing we can start... just out of curiosity...what are > everyone's five favorite Jewel tunes? Mine are as follows... Well, here are my five favorites. 1. Who will save your soul? (I really like the radio/MTV version. It's got sort of a reggae beat almost, and it's quick, well lyricized, yet still exhibits Jewel's voice well.) 2. Foolish Games (I really liked the live version she did on VH1. It was more raw than the cd version, and I liked it better.) 3. Near You Always (Noone else has mentioned this that I have seen, but does Jewel's voice in this song remind anyone else of Dolly Pardon?) 4. You were meant for me (Again, I like the quicker radio version better than the PoY version). 5. Flower (just the way she sings by itself gives me goose bumps...) Angel Needs A Ride (same as the last) Nikos (lyrically gives me goosebumps) You were meant for me (1st favorite, when i first got the album) honorable mention: race car driver, chime bells (the yodeling)... just because of the live experience... they show incredible versitility (sp?) hmm, you know, i could just list every damn song... peace yar ------------------------------ From: M Date: Thu, 11 Apr 96 22:24 EST Subject: 8) "....It doesn't take a talent to be mean Your word can crash things that are unseen..." ------------------------------ From: Michael Date: Thu, 11 Apr 96 22:42 EST Subject: Re: favorite five songs I would have to say that my favorite five (ok, maybe 6) songs on POY are: 6.
