And how.  As the father of a young lady who is also a Jewel fan, that song
gave me the chills.  Made me re-think some of the things I might have
otherwise considered (related to parenting, not abuse!!!).  Several of
Jewel's songs seem to emphasize the desirability of communication and
compassion -- both of which are necessary for parenting.  How fortunate
that she herself was spared some of the pain she witnessed in others, and
how fortunate that she is able to write these songs out of her
understanding and compassion.
