Did Jewel sing Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" in the movie Clueless when Cher is walking down the stairs in the mall and debating her cluelessness? The reason I ask is because I saw the movie for the umpteenth time yesterday, and then today I bought Celine Dion's new album. She does a cover of it and for whatever reason, it made me wonder if the version in Clueless was done by Jewel. Anyway, that's my question. While I have your attention, however, I just wanted to say that she definitely IS getting more airplay on MTV and on the radio. My sister says she saw the WWSYS video three times yesterday on MTV, and I just saw it on alternative nation. I also heard it twice this week on Q101 (Chicago's alternative station). By the way, when are the tour dates for May going to be available? I've never seen her live and I'm really looking forward to it. I couldn't see her when she was here in Chicago in February w/Edwin 'cause it was an 18+ show.... that really sucked. Anyway, I've taken up enough of your time, so I'll stop now. Last night after gorging on cheap chinese food and blowing my ears with the dandy warhols, I awoke this morning to the vivid memory of a dream. Jewel was playing a show and I was backstage talking to her, she was very friendly as always is, even gave me a kiss(oooh!) She says I should play a duet with her on something I said OK and then WHOOSH I'm in the venue. It's a swimming pool type place (kinda like a gym with an opening floor with a pool underneath, but it's only partially open and the pool is rounded, not square) The front row seats are set so your legs hang over the pool as you sit in them. I start to sit there, but get scared so I move back a row. (No wonder they were open) The show starts and Jewel is on Roller Skates/Blades skating up and down the sides of the pool with her guitar. The lighting is very cool. Lots of bright silver and blue. With rainbow prismlike refractions. Very 70's, I'd say. And on the edge of the pool is a high school band (and not a good one) and they begin playing WWSYS. Jewel's playing the guitar and skating in flowing cellophane robes, and singing. Around this time I wake up. Whoa! Jewel played by a bad high school band! Does she become that ubiquitous? Is this the kind of band she's going to tour with? So many questions. (And I wasn't even ill...or stoned...or drunk...very bizzare, no?)
