This is actually in the works right now and will shortly be available for a new tape tree. The same people who put together Rare Angels are putting together a tape we're calling Radio Angels right now. Since many of the appearances are fairly repetitive we've been trying to select only the most interesting performances and it's taken a while. Also included on the tape is the Phyllis Barnabee single. We'll let you know when it's ready. Shouldn't be long now! - --Neile neile@u.washington.edu http://weber.u.washington.edu/~neile/ ------------------------------ From: dcarta@ucsd.edu (David Carta) Date: Thu, 7 Mar 1996 22:53:57 -0800 Subject: The Cold Song So I got my Innerchange tapes the other day (Thanks Dirk!) and I think they are great! For some reason I thought that the Cold Song was going to be on the tapes and I was sadly mistaken. Was this song written more recently? Also, my copy didn't have Neil Young's version "Love is a Rose" on it. So I guess we won't get to see Jewel on that wonderful program. Hopefully she'll score another TV gig. :) Later, Dave DiCicco diciccda@saber.udayton.edu Anyway, that show kinda sucked from what I saw when I taped it last Monday, when Jewel was supposed to be on it. :0 ------------------------------ From: James McGarry Date: Fri, 8 Mar 1996 09:53:19 -0500 (EST) Subject: Re: The Cold Song On Thu, 7 Mar 1996, David Carta wrote: > are great! Unless I've very much mistaken, the Cold Song (which is on the YWMFM promo) was written in Toronto, last March (nearly one year ago) when Jewel was doing a pseudo-residency at C'Est What. She mentioned (and sang) The Cold Song, last time she was in Toronto at the Bathurst St. Theatre and mentioned its creation. (And very appropriate for today's weather -18C, not including wind chill! *sigh*). Dear Jewel-list, The last time Jewel was in Cleveland (at the Odeon), she sang a real crowd-pleaser, a road song that ended each chorus with the phrase "You're in Cleveland today." I don't know if she's done it other places, or if anyone was taping the show, but it was a fun little tune (even if its appeal may have geographic limitations). Was this song written more recently? As James McGarry pointed out, the Cold Song is one of Jewel's newer songs, and it's on the Phyllis Barnabee single, which is on Radio Angels which will shortly be announced. The final list of things being included on the tape was just settled, and it will include not only the Phyllis Barnabee single material but also the Acoustic Cafe performances with Edwin McCain. Give us a week or two to get the copies made for the dubbing sites and to get them sent off and the J cards made and copied, and there will be an announcement of Radio Angels' availability Very Soon. Sorry for all the delays--there are a number of people I've kept teling it would be ready in a couple of weeks, but here are a couple of weeks more to wait--but I'm certain it will be worth it! Please wait for an announcement of the tape's availability before asking for copies, but if you want to volunteer to be a dubbing site and are sure you have the time please let me know. - --Neile neile@u.washington.edu http://weber.u.washington.edu/~neile/ ------------------------------ From: LAURATOR@aol.com Date: Fri, 8 Mar 1996 16:27:29 -0500 Subject: cookies In a message dated 96-03-08 01:13:05 EST, you write: I wrote: >>Just kidding! 8-) Greg wrote: >Typical female (in my life anyway), get me all excited, then disappoint >me... >:( >Just kidding! I've tried to read everything made available in this and other sources so I wouldn't be asking dumb questions. Forgive me if I didn't succeed. Please, could some kind person explain to me the concept of the "tree" for distributing tapes. I have just bought POY and I'm hooked. I'd like to obtain as much of Jewel's recordings as possible. Any help in doing this will be greatly appreciated. I live in western Montana, if that will help. Thanks.
