After re-reading my old posts, I realized what was confusing. When I referred to the Spew with "You Were Meant For Me" I was not referring to the interactive Spew+. Some of the promo store and radio samplers Atlantic distributes are called Spew. When the almighty Atlantic needed a title for the interactive CD, I guess that they stuck with a name they already owned. This caused some confusion down at my friendy neighborhood record shop. When I asked if he had the Spew sampler, he looked at me funny and told me to check the promo section. He thought I was referring to the not-for-sale store promos, and told me that he usually does not give them out. Of course, then I told him about the interactive. I know that Tower now stocks them, and can order them for anyone. ------------------------------ From: LYCM89A@prodigy.com ( KEN WINCHENBACH) Date: Tue, 09 Jan 1996 11:42:20 EST Subject: Jewel Shirts fleece shirt I got for christmas. It came out good, I think. I scoffed the design from the Pieces of You cover. It says "Jewel" in that typewriter-type-font in Green, and then I made a Blue wing, the same design as the one on the cover. I couldn't put in the picture of Jewel, but otherwise it looks very similar. I think it came out great, unless some disaster occurs while drying it or washing it. I would be pleased to make one again, so if people are interested, e-me and we'll see if we can figure out a way to do it. I would just ask for five dollars more than the material and postage costs. If you want to send me a shirt we could do that, or I could pick one up. If anyone is interested, let me know. I think it would be great to know that there are other Jewel fans out there wearing the same shirt. It is not associated with the Bayou at all. (I don't like the Bayou, but I'll be making a rare trek there to see Aimee Mann in Feb.) The originally posted schedule seems to have changed, but this date is what the 9:30 Club is advertising. There was also supposed to be a date in Alexandria at a high school or something. I don't know if that has moved too, or anything more about that. Neal ------------------------------ From: "Colin J. I've been on the list about a month, but have never posted because I reaaly didn't have much to say at the time (plus I went on vacation for a week). But this latest round of introductions has inspired me to introduce myself. My name is Nik Freeman. I am 17 years old and live in Pensacola, Fl. I was first introduced to Jewel one late summer's late (well, EARLY morning actually) and was channel flipping when I decided to watch Crossroads on VH1 instead of Beavis & Butthead. "Who will save your Soul?" was the last video they played and I learned the Jewel had written the song when she was 17 (or around there). Being a guitarist, songwriter, and sometimes singer in my own band, I was instantly captivated by the talent displayed. But situations in my life forced me to postpone my purchase of her album untill early November. It is very excellent. But Jewel's style contrasts so much with most of the other groups I listen to (i.e. Smashing Pumpkins, Velocity Girl, Foo Fighters, etc) that I surprised many of my friends when I got it. Anyway, This message is too long. -NIK- o \ o-----------o \ \ \ o "Out the Token Ring, through the router, o-----o / down the fiber, off another router, down the T1, | / past the firewall........ nothing but Net. |/ o ------------------------------ From: Dbigmanjc@aol.com Date: Tue, 9 Jan 1996 21:21:26 -0500 Subject: Hello I have been reading the list for several weeks now, and decided to be a follower to the rash of introductions and intntroduce myself. My name is Brian i am 19 and became a jewel fan when CMJ put a track of hers in the January '95 issue. I bought the "pieces of you" album and enjoy it very much. I have also purchased the spew+ cd but I am not sure how to get it to work on my computer. I have been looking for cd's, videos and other jewel paraphernalia. So if anyone has anything they would like to part with or are willing to make copies I would be more than willing to pay a good price for them. I am currently living in Portland, Oregon and I am also currious to see if anyone knows of concerts in my area. I am moving to Europe in March and would like to know if she is planing on touring over there soon and if I can get on this mailing list in another country. thanks for your time!
