We'll see... Since Jewel's website first posted that she'd be on EXTRA! a few weeks ago, I have been checking back and they keep pushing the date forward. Now according to her website, her spot on EXTRA will air August 7 on NBC. They keep changing the date but hopefully this will finally be the right date. We shall see I guess.... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Aug 2005 17:55:37 GMT From: "faars1@juno.com" Subject: [EDA] Re: jewel-digest V10 websites i found I found this web site that has a lot of jewel songs as well with lyrics. The song i was looking for earlier that i said lyrics were posted on an email i saved from while back i actually found the song with the lyrics. Someone told me that Lemondrops and clover is the same song as I don't want to be loved by anybody but you. But i found 2 different songs with 2 different sets of lyrics. Here is the website... http://www.fortunecity.com/tinpan/kurtwood/152/audio.html Everyone go check it out, it is pretty neat. I love that it has almost every one of her songs that I can think of (even some of her Wizard of Oz stuff). In a message dated 8/4/2005 11:01:57 A.M. I tried to start transfering the recording, it sounds pretty good, but my laptop was having some resource issues and the transfer of the recording skips during some songs (but not on the original). I'm going to have to work on it over the wkd or somethin' Note: forwarded message attached. I was fourth row dead-friggin center so it's decent despite my equipment. Could've used better mics, it sounds more distant than it is. So the roundup.. Wyndham Hotel.. $120 Gas, 600 miles Roundtrip.. $60 Tickets.. $105 Rock N Roll HOF admission.. $42 Handicap violation.. $100 (I took pictures, I'll appeal. I was DEFINATELY blocking a US Coast Guard Driveway and I was DEFINATELY there longer than the posted 4 hours but I DEFINATELY was passed the pole that signifies the Handicap zone). I think this was the 10th or 11th show I've been to. My first was This Way @ Chicago Theatre. We used to just drive to the show and drive home, but we've fallen into some sort of "well even if we spend more money it's still money better spent" trap. Just can't reason with the drive time + gas cost..got a hotel and spent the day in the city. Anyone else from outside the area drive around downtown? I was surprised by how close together everything was. The theatre district was close to shopping was close to their landmark entertainment spots. The baseball, basketball and football stadiums were within walking distance of each other AND the Rock N Roll HOF and the Great Lakes Science center, both of which are basically situated on the water. The show the show: Joe seemed like he always does, happy to be there, he said they had run out of t-shirts but still had albums. He was wearing a different shirt, a mostly-pink tie and no shoes as usual. After his set he changed. When Jewel came out I loved the outfit, I wasn't sure if she was going for Dorothy or Alice.. what color is Alice's dress in Alice in Wonderland? She looked good, excited to be there for once, mentioned that she had even rehearsed the day before; called it a "treat" to be playing with an orchestra. It was still a bit light out when Joe was playing so I didn't get my recorder and mics out until Jewel came on. I expected a more limited set list based on the fact that the orchestra people would've had to learn all that material but as Jewel pointed out, her four chords weren't that much to deal with. It was interesting to see the contrast between how much the orchestra played during her older material (POY) and This Way. They actually kept moving during This Way material and just played "note, pause. note, pause" during others. The conductor didn't really conduct. He played Piano directly behind Jewel and was REALLY enjoying himself, especially rocking out to LMJLMA. I even wanted to get out of my seat during parts of the show! Missed that feeling. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Aug 2005 23:05:21 -0500 From: Theresa Bolger Gubrud Subject: [EDA] Re: Alice Here's the link: http://s57.yousendit.com/d.php?id=1JP6Z4XKFHVOG365FUL6X262OW Hope it works.
