Yet the absolute WORST fate is to be driving in one of those five Dennis-named Cape Cod villages with a half-drunk guy named Dennis in the back seat and to be pulled over by a car that says "Dennis Police" on the side of it. Mike: "What did I do officer?" Backseat Dennis: "It's OK officer Let him go. I'm Dennis." The horror....the horror....I still get nightmares about that night. ;-) >And yes Mike, you're getting older and that LRC was in 1997 -- EIGHT >years ago! I had to double-up on my Geritol dosage just thinking about it. Not too many left here on this list who were on it back then. I bet the dozen or so of us are all shaking our heads that it's been nine years already...nine years of therapy since meeting Dennis. Mike P.S. How's this for an obscure Jewel-song trifecta? Right now I'm channel surfing three movies on cable TV, all with Jewel singing rarely/never heard songs somehwere in them, two of the three songs not written by her....The Craft (Jewel sings "Under The Water" written by her), Clueless (she sings "All By Myself" written by Eric Carmen) and I Shot Andy Warhol (singing Sunshine Superman" written by Donovan). I'm pretty sure it was ten years ago next weekend or so that I first heard Jewel and first heard of her....while seeing Clueless in a theatre in the Times Square area. Not knowing her name nor having heard of her, when "All By Myself" started up in the film I thought to myself "WHO is that?". Loved the voice right then and there. I never saw I Shot Andy Warhol before, I should concentrate on that one. (It's on Oxygen, if anyone wants to watch it if/when it re-airs. I'm not sure when Jewel's song comes up in it) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Jul 2005 13:37:02 -0400 From: Dennis Harris Subject: [EDA] SJC: Mike had "White Line Fever" !!! The officer seemed to think he had been drinking, and he had! Root beer. All day long. Then Mike couldn't complete the "walk the line" test well enough cause he had an injured foot. I wouldn't be surprised if Mike still had a warrant out for his arrest in Barnstable county! Amy, back me up on this one. Quickly. You know Mike's gonna deny it. Harris. Trust me (tm). Now, shall we share the driving story sagas of Tom Proven's mistaken gender through Jersey toll booths, or the death defying, "lights out" midnight pursuit of Selena and Tom through Amish country (by the pursuit team of Chris "Dashing Harris Sidekick" (tm) Moynihan and Tammy Campbell)? Safely passing Amish carriages at 1 AM is so small feat... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Jul 2005 13:38:04 -0700 From: "Larry Greenfield" Subject: RE: [EDA] SJC: re: Dennis The Menace That sure almost touched the limit line for me. In fact, that's when I learned what a "limit line" is. Luckily, I was in the FRONT seat, and the Dennis Ossifers, er, Officers, didn't hear Dennis the Menace (I think). At least we escaped Provincetown without incident. And it was close. Very, very close. Dennis, you have to stop putting your photo in those local tourist hotel ads in Provincetown. Please. For the love of Mike. - -=-Larry-=- > [Original Message] > From: Mike Connell > To: Dennis Harris ; > Date: 7/9/2005 6:45:24 AM > Subject: [EDA] SJC: re: Dennis The Menace > > Tropical DEPRESSION Dennis wrote: > > The last time I heard EDAs complain about Dennis so much was over > >traveling to Alan Bershaw's LRC down at Cape Cod a few years back to > >see CindyLee Berryhill and Elizabeth Hummel.
