To paraphrase a famous EDA >quote "God Damn Ye Hurricanes" I would never strike and kill someone, unless they needed killing!* Damn. It looks like Hurricane Dennis took out four in Haiti, so this may be my last Hurricane hurrah... The last time I heard EDAs complain about Dennis so much was over traveling to Alan Bershaw's LRC down at Cape Cod a few years back to see CindyLee Berryhill and Elizabeth Hummel. Seems you can't get there without going through Dennis Port or Dennis and East Dennis. Take a wrong turn and you might even wind up in North Dennis! And yes Mike, you're getting older and that LRC was in 1997 -- EIGHT years ago! I'm working on a class reunion, and it reminded me that we have the TENTH anniversary of JewelStock coming up next summer. I say we all camp in Mike's back yard for a week, paint his house whorehouse red with YELLOW polka dots (cause blue prints make him sad) and just dare Ms. Jewel to show up and sing a song or two... I'd invite her to my place but she's too savvy to fall for the same trick twice. Come to think of it, she didn't fall for it the first time either! Aw hell, have Duff ask her to do it. She's batting 1,000 so far. I hope everyone's summer is going well. I missed Amy's housewarming in New Jersey (I heard the Campbells made it, though) and I'll miss the Dan 'n Lief nuptials out in California later this month, too. I guess they're the second EDA couple to tie the knot (after Tom and Rachel). Well, time for me to blow through the Keys and head for that lovely Florida panhandle! (Dennis) Harris. (Trust me, I'm a meteorological headline.) * That's the Texas He Needed Killing Defense -- "Why did you kill that man?" "Judge, he needed killing." "Well, alrighty then. Case dismissed." ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Jul 2005 19:26:20 +0300 From: Santee Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: Obscure is my middle name... > Dennis Harris wrote: > >*** Eliot wrote that he was looking for something obscure: > > > >yes? > > What I wanna know is how in the hell did you get another hurricane named > after you so quickly? 1999 wasn't THAT long ago. > > Mike > Yeah, it should have at least roled around my name before that! Anyway, I've learned from the Jewel's Street Team board that Jewel performed the new song Good Day at one of the Humphrey's concert. Quoting part of the post: "It was hard to describe it because it had rap like lyrics sung fast during the chorus and verses that were almost spoken over her guitar part. She said it was on her new album and was hard to play it solo. It was catchy for sure but seemed more like an 0304ish kind of song more than old style Jewel. I liked it but it was very different than the other recent songs. Steve Poltz came on both nights and that was great and they told the mexico story which was funny as hell because they told it together for like 20 minutes!" The song: GOOD DAY JEWEL KILCHER (JEWEL), KARA DIOGUARDI (DIO GUARDI, KARA ELIZABETH), GREG WELLS (WELLS, WILLIAM GREGORY) It IS supposed to be catchy, after all it was co-written by Kara Dioguardi, the woman behind Ashlee Simpson and Hilary Duff (along with John Shanks). Hopefully it is a lot better than their stuff, hehe... And I'm glad she's not straying too far from 0304.
