Jewel gets the best for B-day wishes but really people (to those who complain when she was sent well wishes) Who hasn't got happy birthday wishes early or late ... so lets not be so over fanatic and let people think and say what they want without snide remarks =) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 May 2005 20:05:43 EDT From: WhatWouldJewelDo@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Happy Birthday! I want to take this time to personally apologize to EDA0902@aol.com because I didnt think about the fact that you might be in a different time zone until AFTER I pressed Send Now. What gets me upset, is that I make 1 TINY MISTAKE and I get SEVEN E-Mails from different EDA's all saying "Maybe their in a different time zone, and I kindly respond and say, "oops, my mistake". Another thing is that IxLNiCoLeIxL@aol.com sends a letter to the main list and says "Who hasn't got happy birthday wishes early or late ... so lets not be so over fanatic and let people think and say what they want without snide remarks =)" First of all snide means "sneakily derogatory" I was just making playful sarcasm. Not trying to belittle someone. I said "actually, its the 23rd, but whose counting anyway???" Anyone with a little bit of common sense would understand that is sarcasm. Its not mean sarcasm, but playful sarcasm. I don't want to start another argument. but I am just trying to express my point of view on an issue that is between me an EDA0902 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 May 2005 00:53:49 EDT From: WhatWouldJewelDo@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Happy Birthday! Wow, all I have to say is you need to learn not to take a tiny little joke too seriously. What happened is what happened and that you need to not take something so seriously that is not directed towards you. I do admit though, that I should have only sent that e-mail to the person and not the whole list. And I know that because I sent it on the list it automatically makes it your business, but what you did was try to be a referee to a game that was non-exsistent. We have different opinoins on whether ALL sarcasm is mean or only SOME sarcasm is mean. I think that this whole situation is ridiculous and I do not regret the one tiny harmless comment I made, and I hope EDA0902 realizes that I was just trying to inform him/her, because I thought that maybe this person thought that her birthday was on the 22nd, not the 23rd. I am not angry or upset, but grat-eful that seven people e-mailed me and shed some light on me. If I really was in the dark, it's nice to know that their are people on the list that are willing to help you. So I thank all of them. I was actually going to write an e-mail saying that I realized that the person may be in a different time zone and my clock was a day behind than theirs. But then I received your e-mail which was just telling me that i shouldn't make snide comments, when the comment that I made was anything but snide. Then, I emailed back and said I apologized and tried to explain to you that my comment was not snide, but playful sarcasm, then you come back at me and tell me that all sarcasm is rude and that I can severe people's limbs with my words. I think this whole situation would be a lot better if you learned what chats to get involved in, and which ones for you to stand back from. Referee-ing is not a bad thing, you just need to do it right. If you said "Now, maybe this person is in a different time zone. Also, I feel that sarcasm in general is rude on the internet, so could you please not be sarcastic" but you seem to have a need to try to make me feel bad. Oh Well. I am definatly over it. Bobby P.S. After reading your e-mail 4 times, I do not understant why you put definitions on the bottom. Its not necessary to mock people. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V10 #124 ****************************
