She's so nervous through some of those tracks, rushed, flushed, it sounds like she's covering up the shake in her voice.. That memoir has nothing to do with Karaoke.. I'm bar age now, I hear a lot of bad karaoke, I choose to refrain from involving my own voice personally, but I've long held that if I did it, I'd sing Jewel. I think I'd like to do LMJLMA, but Sometimes It Be That Way, then Race Car Driver, aren't far behind. What would everyone else 'sing'? No WWSYS, FG, YWMFM... unless you've already done that.. karaoke in college bars is up tempo. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2005 13:01:02 EST From: GSBrumley@aol.com Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel Karaoke I sing "Stand" and "2 Become 1" at the bar I karaoke at every Friday night. Took it regional, too, and won $500 bucks doing "Stand" and "What's Simple is True." And raised over $600 bucks for Operation Smile doing a karaoke thing, where people put tips in our jars while we sing. I do the cliche "YWMFM" and "Standing Still" when they're requested. Gina I'm a karaoke freak LoL PS-Also, one bar in my area has the Jewel version of "Sweet Home Alabama." When I can make it there, I sing that, the people really love that arrangement. They also have "Have a Little Faith in Me," but they just got that per my request, I haven't had a chance to sing it yet! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2005 11:14:03 -0800 (PST) From: Jessica Boyd Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel Karaoke Wow! I had no idea Jewel covered "Sweet Home Alabama". My collection isn't advanced as all yours is. Would any of you happen to have an mp3 of that song? I would love to hear it. Oh and as far as the karoake question, if I could grow the balls to sing in public, I would love to sing "Down So Long". I love that song. It just makes me feel good (which is funny considering it's called "DOWN SO LONG"! I just love to sing it, though. It's perfect for my range. The soundtrack is actually awesome, when I play it, I usually skip right over Jewel's song to get to the rest. It's a great album. Anyway, I was looking for a Jewel song and I was hoping one of you would just have it on your computer and you could e-mail it to me. It's "I Hate Valentine's Day." My sister does a radio show at her college campus and she would love to play it. So, can anyone help me out? Thanks, Mi Rinda The maternal angel ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V10 #31 ***************************
