1)We were all Spoiled by Jewels "involvement" with EDA's. Most artists  don't 
write personal "letters" to their email fan base.  She did it for a  long 
time. Then she stopped. People get older. People change. It obviously is  not 
what she thinks is IMPORTANT anymore.  (trust me, she HAS the time to  send off a 
SHORT email, anytime she wants).  2)Her Management is TOO BUSY  right now 
with THE EAGLES FAREWELL tour, and CHRISTINA Aguilera, to really spend  time 
Promoting Jewels Web site. NO ONE at her management is working to "fringe"  
marketing elements (WE are the fringe these days, 'hardcore' devoted  fans...).
3)She hasn't been seen lately. Artists take breaks.  Sometimes YEARS  between 
albums. The fact she released a lot of material relatively quickly was  
great, but we can't fault her for taking her time to release the next CD.   I mean, 
Steely Dan took 11 years between Cds, and Pink Floyd took 7 years and  then 
another 8 years between Lp's (but they are all over  60 years old now  ha 
ha)...4)Finally, after 0304 she's lucky she has Loyal fans who still care  
anyway...so...I don't think WE are the problem by not being enthusiastically  talking 
about her right now. I believe in her ability to COME BACK with a GREAT  
CD..but ..until it happens...i guess--i don't want to get all too excited before  
the event (CD release). 5)People who are bored on the list...i  
understand...but....this is a good time to concentrate on OUR LIVES and  improving them. We 
gave JEWEL a lot of our TIME.   Her music USED to  demand it. But it has not 
recently....so---until she INSPIRES ME (again)..  I am ONLY HUMAN.

Hello, my babies.


Damn. I actually saw the first spark of life on this list in YEARS today. I
gotta tell you, my heart swelled (at least three sizes).


Could it (the EDA phenomenon) come back from the dead? Possibly.


Eliot, you're a good man. Dealing with natural disasters, death in the family
AND continuing to grow as person and contributing member of society -- man,
that's admirable. Forget selling records, THAT is what making a difference is
all about.


It's the small things, but the things that take effort -- and dedication. You
have my respect. Hold your head high, Mr. Lemoncilli.


Insofar as Derrick, well, I gotta give him props on adding one philosophy to
my life -- another ABSOLUTE rule of existence! I always claimed ONLY two
things were absolute -- death and "pregnant/not pregnant" (screw taxes). 
Well, in a
van ride from Houston to New Orleans during a Jewel/EDAF food drive effort
several years back, Derrick K. mentioned the phrase "binary", and by 
damned, the
guy was right -- by it's very definition, binary means "on" or "off" -- black
and white. An absolute value! I immediately added a THIRD   absolute to my
list (thanks, Derrick). Otherwise, the boy was pretty much off base on most of
his views...   ;-)


(I still shake my head that it took me kissing Steve Poltz on New Orleans'
Bourbon Street at 3 AM to   get Derrick to overcome his homophobia...)


Kris, are you that cute teenager (circa 1998 or so) that I met in Dallas who
became so enamored with Steve Poltz as an opening act? If so, I imagine you
are one heckuva lovely young woman at this point. It's in the 50's here in
Boston, and well, a very mellow winter thus far...


Alisa, make your own music. And let us know where we can listen to it. Life
is a work in progress, and best lived in the moment.


When Michiel (the Dutch "isn't that vierd" Jewel fan) posts that he doesn't
much care what Jewel does, well, THAT speaks volumes about how alienated she
has made her fan base. Enough wasted breath about Jewel already.


The EveryDay Angels Foundation, founded in 1997 by myself, Amy Neufeld, Larry
Greenfield, Mike Connell and Alan (Mr BB) Bershaw on behalf of the folks on
this list, is entering a pretty exciting stage. We're coming off as season of
seven "Project Warmth" events, where a couple of thousand people were exposed
to great music, but even more importantly, the concept of helping someone else
live a more comfortable life. All the events resulted in warm clothing and
blankets being donated to people down on their luck.


While Jewel's recent support for the Foundation is seriously lacking, we see
generous artists such as Eve Selis, Mary Dolan, Allison Crowe, Patty Zlaket,
Peggy Lebo, and so many more (including New England artists Adam Ezra, Mike
Asquino, Similar Jones, Ted Droznowski, Similar Jones, the Thompson sisters,
Pony, et al) stepping up to the plate! There is so much talent out there, so
support these great musicians!!!


To Mikey, the other 1500 or so EDAs I've been blessed to meet face-to-face
over the past 8+ years, and the ones I have yet to shake hands with, I wish a
very inspiring holiday season, and a glorious new year.

Hey guys,
Well, I thought I posted this a while back in early December, but I guess
not. I went around and did a little gathering of Jewel news from the past
couple of months. So for those of you in the dark, here is how she has been
spending her fall and winter so far:

- - Unedited will be back in January, powered by new company Musictoday as
Fansrule has (thankfully) been fired. They're working hard to make
everything up to us, including discounts and not counting the past down-time
months in the billing period. Hopefully(more than likely) a new Jewel site
will come with it. Thats only a couple weeks from now!

- - On November 18, Jewel performed in Vegas for the Cure Cancer fundraiser,
Caesars Palace, Vegas. She did a solo set and performed "The First Cut Is
The Deepest" with Rod Stewart.

- - On November 8th, appeared at the The Louis Vuitton United Cancer Front
Gala, Las Vegas

- - Also in Las Vegas, Jewel modeled 12 MILLION dollars in jewelry for a
jewelry store opening.

- - This fall she recently introduced Elton John to an audience in promotion
for his new DVD.

- - It is rumoured that she donated a chunk of money to feed the hungry during
Thanksgiving

- - Intuition is featured in the Gamecube dancing game, 'MC GROOVZ danceCRAZE'
- - Presented at the RMA's

- - Her and Ty tried out some bungee jumping this fall at a festival in
Huntsville, where she also performed.

- - Currently recording a new album. Rumoured to be collaborating with Rob
Thomas. Working in the studio with members of Pink Floyd, and the bands of
Bob Dylan and Neil Young, and Sade producer Mike Pela.

- - Rumoured to have worked with Brooks n Dunn on during the writing stages
their new album.

- - Atlantic Records has revamped their Jewel page.

- - This is old news, but Jewel's 1997 performance of "Angel Standing By" can
be found on the MTV Video Music Awards Rock compilation DVD. It came out
last year.

Well, thats it for now. I can't say theres been much news this December.
Everything was handed to us before, but lately all you have to do is look
for your news. I highly recommend www.foolishgames.com. The owner does a
great job of rounding up Jewel tidbits.  If you want some recent Jewel
images, try www.gettyimages.com and running a search for Jewel in the
entertainment section, and wireimage.com. Its REALLY cool to hear she
performed The First Cut Is The Deepest with Rod Stewart.

OK, am I missing something here? This is twice this month where people
pointed out a re-vamping of Atlantics Jewel site. Now, I admit I hadn't
checked out that site in almost two years so I have no idea what it was
showing a year ago nor when the present styling was uploaded.
However,  when I go there right now to atlanticrecords.com/jewel and see
the dates under "Latest" showing the latest being January 7th 2004 (over
ELEVEN months ago) and all the other dates in 2003, I do not see how this
is a positive sign, nor a viable site to rely on news about our favorite
Utah-born/Alaska-raised singer.

Gee, that certainly was filled with the holiday spirit, Harris! :q
I think more than anything that we were just really spoiled.
I don't think Jewel sees us as a goldmine, but she definately isn't a slave 
to us. I know I wouldn't be if I was in her seat. She had nothing to do with 
the web stuff before, and she has nothing to do with it now.
And I have to add that despite the low opinions on 0304, her new songs 
during the last tour DEFINATELY live up to her potential. Hopefully we'll 
see them on the new album.
