Today's Subjects: ----------------- [EDA] Jewel,old eda and re:free Fiona Apple [Uri Cancio Subject: [EDA] Jewel,old eda and re:free Fiona Apple Hi I'm an old EDA, joined in 1998...have been around,but growing up gives you more things to do and less time to myself....I went from watching MTV in the 80's and 90's to loving VH1 now and rarely recognize MTV now days...but still enjoy good music and the few good talents that have surfaced recently like The White Stripes,Avril,Evanescence and a few others.. still read this list and it's amazing how little posts are there comparing to way back when...Hopefully our girl will recup from 0304 and we can get more of her talent ...it's great to try new things and do stuff , but sometimes you can never,as much as you try, hide your true self...I think Jewel needs to revive her career by just doing her own stuff and stop trying to be this and that...in these years that have passed I have seen so many new singers come and go, and the few that stay are the ones that really have talent, the ones that lip sync, the so called american idols,the ones that are just too cute or to much of anything and no art at all will soon banish or will remain in a fun summer song that we always remember known as the One hit wonder...only the true few talents from an era will remain...whatever the genre is..who's still standing from the 80's and 90's?? U2,Celine Dion(hate to say it, but she has talent),Dr Dre,Snoop, for God sake the Stones are still kicking!!, Alanis still out there, Sheryl Crow one of my favorites,No Doubt,Gwen...Jewel has enough good material to be released for a lifetime, she just needs to dig a little and amazing songs like Race Car Driver, or Nicotine Love can be released now and be hits...but we will have to wait and see what she does....whatever she does I'll be right here waiting...and by the way if Mr. BB still around, the website really sucks...it's confusing, poorly mantained and just not good...sorry had to say it.... Now Fiona....one of my favorites that I'm also waiting for....I've been waiting so long for more material from her...everytime I do a search for her comes up the same website from Sony about her last album back last century....it's stupid....if Fiona doesn't want to walk around a red carpet doing stupid interviews so be it!!....a good label would do the promotion for the album as much as they can and I think if she sees the effort and faith , she will probably tour and do a few appearances as she did before,that's why you need an agent....I can't believe that sony wants her to be an Ashlee or Jessica.,they suck and are in every damn thing there is on tv...a true artist will never be a company whore!! Seems the business is getting as stupid as when Disco took over in the 70's, if you don't do it, they don't want you...and we know what happened to disco...it's played in every tacky weeding and karoke bar for our druken amousement...jajaja..I guess if you don't do a reality show following your every stupid move you don't get the time...it's still super funny to me that Ozzy is known to most teens and they have no idea about The Who, Led Zep,ACDC and how kick ass they are compared to Ozzy..oh well So I will support Free Fiona and all of us who know what a true talent is should do it too...I want her new album and no label should be able to get away with that...it's like telling Sean Connery (just to use a big example) that he's movie won't be released because he won't appear in the today show...it's just stupid!! Well it has surfaced that Fiona did infact complete her third LP in 2003, but her lable, Sony/Epic is refusing to release it, saying it has "no commercial appeal." Well someone has organized a website, FreeFiona.com that has information on "Fiona Day" where fans are being asked to send apples of all forms to her record company, as well as protests in front of their New York and Los Angeles Offices.
