When jewel first came out with her first album it took a me a while to get hooked and buy the cd. But after that first cd I was hooked for good. Spirit was good because she was more mature sounding then the one before then This Way came out and that was even a better album I thought. The preordered 0304 arrived at my house I immediately listened to it thinking that this album was going to be the best of all the ones she did and all of a sudden this pop/dance music started to play. I never hated the album I just was shocked by what she was doing. And what really sent me over the edge was everything starting to think that Jewel had gone Britney Spears. I am probably Spears worst fear as an possible fan....I HATE her, those words are strong. Jewel's first 2 albums hit me in a place that made my life make sense when it least did. Her music has a deeper meaning than just plain beat and some nosense words like most pop music. I really hope that when Jewel's next album comes out she goes back to her roots. After her experimenting with pop/dance music I hope her temptation to try something new is killed. I loved her style and pure talent she showed us in POY and This Way. I am not dissing her 0304 album, I still listen to it and enjoy some of the songs on there but just not as much as the other albums. Well, I will stop rattling on, just wanted to say a few things cuz that posting struck a part in me. I can make a huge rant about this, but its been done a thousand times over. Just like that kind of statement. Lets just say that I can't believe its been over a year since 0304, a new lo-fi very-Jewel-esque album is approaching, and we still hear this stuff here. Sorry. If there are, you should definitely be a rap singer with that name alone (Webmaster Guru in da hizouse! -- j/k! but it totally sounds like a cheesy 90's rap artist's name hehe) Anyway, seriously though... I am creating a website (a Jewel centralized website--kind of but not really... and... as if there aren't enough out there already!!--I kind of jumped on the bandwagon a little late, hehe), and I fell into a puddle of drama with it. I'm too far into it to junk it or change programs (what was I thinking with Yahoo! SiteBuilder lol), but it's my baby ::cradles the air:: because I have spent way too much time changing the stinky--everything's--to the all that is great and powerful (and beautiful) me-isms. Well, I ran out of diapers... can anyone help me that is willing to help me, that wants to help me that really just has the time??? I'm sure it's pretty basic stuff, nothing to luxurious... mostly format stuff. Most of my site is done like in that aspect, like I'm just collecting/organizing more stuff to put on it. There will be some old surprises for some of us (lol like I'm gonna go onto my website and be like "ooh! aaahhh! wow!"--I've already gotten that out of my system lol) all of which wouldn't be possible if it weren't for a super-keen, nice and friendly EDA that came to my rescue when I was looking for it a while back!--and now I want to share that wealth. hehe, I went from cheesy '90 rap artists falling into puddles drama from off of the Jewel-website-bandwagon to my narcissistic wizard of stinky diapers self in 1 breath hehe (say that 10 times fast). BTW I have been an EDA longer than any of all'yall but just didn't know it (just kidding--not really though--ya I am--well ask me in an hour--seriously though... lol). ::rolling eyes:: - --all of this, BEFORE my morning coffee and vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Does jewel still have JMerch? Does it still exist? I'm confused because it now looks like musictoday runs all the merch stuff too. They used to have such cool items too... and if anyone has any of the unique merch stuff that they are willing to part with, please feel free to email me. =) thanks! hugs*~ mandy ~*"But don't wander too far, my one constant star, darkness exists, except where you are, my feet are filled with wandering, they follow your own, cause everywhere you are feels like home" -jewel kilcher, last dance rodeo*~ ~*"Call me naive, but i believe, your two blue eyes are all i need" jewel, does anyone believe in love anymore*~ MSN- sparkly_stick@yahoo.com yahoo- sparkly_stick aim- daisie eda - -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2004 16:47:39 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: Re: [EDA] merch guy At 02:23 PM 11/12/2004, miranda mente wrote: >hi angels, > >just a quick question because i know some of you are friendly with the >merch guys... > >i forgot, what was the name of the like head merch guy? was it chuck? >and do any of you know his last name? could it possibly be Ody? > >Does jewel still have JMerch? Does it still exist? A couple of years ago when Jewel's management was shaken up, the J-Merch guys were also let go in the same blood-letting. None of them still work for Jewel. Also, yes, it was Chuck Ody. I think they sang it 3 or 4 times before singing Everything Reminds Me of You. If you have it I would be willing to arrange a trade. Has anyone heard it? Was is awesome?
