We're just back home now from our New York experience, and it really was special. The food at Manhattan's West Bank Cafe IS excellent, and reasonably priced, and the folks at the restaurant, and the Laurie Beechman Theatre which it contains, are super nice and supportive. It was a wonderful place for Allison Crowe to make her NYC debut - and we're so happy it was with EDAs and as part of the Project Warmth concert series. Allison and I are grateful to Amy and Dennis for coordinating things for this show, and nurturing the EDAF as they have done for years now ( : Thanks so much, Amy, for making it out amidst all that's happening in your life! And thanks Melanie for the mountain of work you accomplished in gathering coats, blankets and other warm items. Covenant House is the nation's largest agency to help homeless, run-away, and at-risk youth ~ and they couldn't wish for a more caring partner. It was great fun to meet Dan (Stark), after years of knowing his name from online chats. (And he had an "ah-ha" moment when he figured out who I was!) And it was lots of fun to meet Allan (I hoped I've spelled that right), and Leaf, and all have dinner together. Mr BB and Craig kindly came down from Connecticut and it was a real family affair. Allison, her boyfriend, Steve and I had been on the road for a month - and this was our "Thanksgiving" celebration. (When the Canadian Thanksgiving happened a couple of weeks back, we were driving through Napanee, Ontario, Avril Lavigne's hometown, and we stopped at a KFC there - which was not quite the same as the dinner and company we enjoyed in the Laurie Beechman Theatre last Saturday night!) And thanks for coming out Adrienne. I hope you and your friend had a blast. We look forward to seeing everyone again, and even more EDAs, when Alley next comes to NYC and the region for concerts. We're excited to return. Gotta catch up on some sleep first! All EDAs within walking, running, cycling, flying, paddling, or swimming distance of Encinitas, remember the next Project Warmth show features Eve Selis, Peggy Lebo, Patty Zlaket, and Mary Dolan and a cast of kookybakas. We are all tiny lights for each other, so shine on ( : peace and cheers, Adrian (the-Angel-who's-had-so-much-fun-he's-pretty-much-forgotten-about-the-ac cident-in-a-ca-noe) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Oct 2004 06:43:41 -0700 From: "Allison Crowe Music Mgmt" Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: Project Warmth shows* (not sure if this came through before - or maybe it's on an EDA list?) What a day Wednesday was! I flew outta Providence, and spent almost nine hours on Southwest transfers to LA. Anyway, Amy and I both got to the airport, rented an SUV and drove down Spevula-blahblah (hell, YOU pronounce it!) Boulevard in search of Larry's house... Kris Kane is away, and Larry's got work to do, so we're heading down San Diego way. Jason and Sonja Vierling are likely "targets" in Lake Elsinore, and we hope to run into some of the local musicians between venue hopping and the EDAF Project Warmth show Saturday night in Encinitas at the Seaside Church. Looks like the local media is giving us a lot of play, and the 200-300 seats should be filled (of course there's room for more EDAs). Eve Selis, Peggy Lebo, Patti Zlaket and Mary Dolan are on the the evening's bill -- and the bill for attending is only a blanket or warm coat donation for the Interfaith Shelter Network's support of homeless in the area. Sooooooo, you SoCal EDAs (old school and newbies) need to pop your heads up, come to the show Saturday and give Amy and I a shout at _harrisbros@aol.com_ (mailto:harrisbros@aol.com) OR _w1ggy2@aol.com_ (mailto:w1ggy2@aol.com) ASAP so we can get together before we leave early Monday morning. Short of knocking on your door late one night and dragging your lazy asses outta your designer futons and taking you to the local Starbucks, this is the most we can do to kickstart what has become an AWOL SoCal EDA culture! ;-) Seriously, we'd like to see some EDAs while we're in the area. Otherwise, you're on your own!!! Harris. Trust me (tm). ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Oct 2004 13:33:52 EDT From: Edafinfo@aol.com Subject: [EDA] NJC: Project Warmth in Iowa this weekend Hi All, Just a quick announcement about a Project Warmth show in Davenport, IA this Saturday night.
