It is 100% rude to the people around them and the performer, but in ther past 20 years this has become the NORM at rock concerts, even quiet ones. I went to Simon and Garfunkel, and OLD PEOPLE over 65 years old, were TALKING throughout the WHOLE concert. ALl i can say is, I pray when I go to shows They dont seat me next to MORONS! ha Jewelblues@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Aug 2004 21:30:00 +0200 From: "michiel" Subject: [EDA] www.jewelland.nl hey jewelstars, have you add my website to your favourites recently?? www.jewelland.nl the site to be for jewelfans, instead of my old domain name www.jewelkilcher.nl i never read any messages anymore on my forum, i will try to keep my site more uptodate again sooN! there should be shows in europe with jewel soon! there is one big artist coming to holland DIDO from the UK and KATIE MELUA in october :) bye michiel ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Aug 2004 16:28:56 -0400 From: shawn e williams Subject: Re: [EDA] Chastain Park concert/My Jewel interview!! She was incredible!! The people there were so rude when that David guy was performing. They were all talking and stuff. He was pretty good though, country/folk. Some lady announced before he played, that no one talks during Jewel and his performance, and to turn their cell phones off. As soon as Jewel came on, someone's cell started ringing. Everyone was quiet during her accapella of "Near You Always." I requested "Alice In Wonderland," and she played it for me! It wasn't the best setlist, but still amazing! These f-n yuppies, next to me kept talking. Then, this guy started singing along with Jewel during "Ywmfm," b/c it was one of the JEwel songs he was familiar with. It really sucks that people are allowed to buy season tickets, b/c they get all the table seats, and they are rude! Anyway, at the end of the show, one of the sound tech guys gave me a pick she used from the stage!! If anyone has a copy of this show, please let me know! As you guys know, Jewel called into the radio station I intern at. I helped the dj come up with all the questions. Tracy, the dj, told Jewel that I had been a fan of hers since 4th grade and that I shouldn't tell her that b/c it would make her feel old. And Jewel laughed. I was like yep, you've been my fav singer and that I was an EDA. I was shakingingly nervous! She yodeled for us. I brought Tracy in a copy of "Alice In Wonderland" and we asked her if it meant that she was going to leave all of this. She was amazed that I had that song. She said the song is just about the ups and downs she's been through with the business. Tracy asked her if she was going to have a rodeo or Kabala wedding, and Jewel said def. not a Kabala wedding. Then, she told me to ask her a question and I froze up and was like, "uhhh, i don't know." Then, I asked her the dumbest question, if her and Joe were going to put out a single together. I dont' even know what she said. So, yea....ha love ya, shawney the hippie angel ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! But Jewel was mentioned on Access Hollywood today. It was really interesting because one of the Olympians on the women's wrestling team said that Jewel was her babysitter back in Alaska. And that Jewel would punish her brother by making him stand on a chair and made him sing the national anthem when he misbehaved. hugs*~ mandy ~*"But don't wander too far, my one constant star, darkness exists, except where you are, my feet are filled with wandering, they follow your own, cause everywhere you are feels like home" -jewel kilcher, last dance rodeo*~ ~*"Call me naive, but i believe, your two blue eyes are all i need" jewel, does anyone believe in love anymore*~ - -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V9 #225 ***************************
