Rob writes: I have no doubt in my mind that Jewel's view of taping/treeing live shows today is extremely different than it was in 1996. - --- I actually dissagree kinda on this. I still think shes okay for it. I have a few recent concerts (by recent I mean post This Way) where she asks if people are bootlegging, and it really gives the impression that she still doesn't mind. Either way, I'm really happy about the instantlive thing. I do not mind buying the high quality recording whatsoever. 15 or 20 bucks for a high quality concert recording is a really good deal if you ask me. A lot of great shows aren't getting recorded lately and often the quality is too horrible to even enjoy them. I don't think its necesarily "killing" angelfood, either. Also, keep in mind that it seems that Instantlive will only being select concerts on the tour. Theres still a chance for recording. I think that if this really was Jewel's idea, it really shows support for the fans. Shes making the whole process of getting concert recordings much easier for us. We shouldn't get upset over it. Oh, and as for the thong thing--- Do you really think it was Jewel's idea and that shes in charge of that? lol. If I was a star and marketing wanted to put my name on a thong, I think I would have a really big laugh and not even care. Again, not many are really losing out, as you can still go to instantlive's site and buy the recordings online if you weren't at the show. Now we can all get some great recordings even easier than before. From a few articles and interviews with Jewel, it seems like they had to really work with Atlantic to get this thing set up. Personally I thought it was a great gesture to us fans when I found out and a step in the right direction. Be happy!
