Hey angels, I just got Jewel's Humphrey's dvd today and I was watching the interview part and it reminded me of 3 years ago when I first heard The New Wild West and I posted to the list and did a whole big comparison thing to Ain't No Looking Back. A lot of people went yeah kinda the same but not really you nutcase (ya'll just thought I had way too much time on my hands!) but HA I was right! Watch the dvd and see! Yay for me :) Louise __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Subject: [EDA] Jewel's July Tour (Toronto date announced!) Hey Guys Jewel's website has her full July itinerary up in the Ticketing section. She's playing Massey Hall in Toronto on the 17th of July which I am SO excited about. I used to live in Toronto, and by a complete coincidence I'm going to be in Toronto for my first visit in two years for two weeks in July (the 4th to the 19th) ... and Jewel just happens to be playing on the 17th! So I get to see her! What a freaky coincidence is that??? Amazing... Here are the dates for July.... This is probably Jewel's last leg of touring until her next album comes out.... although I don't think anyone is complaining cause she's working her ass off touring this year. 10 Jul 2004, Summerfest, Milwaukee, WI 11 Jul 2004, Murat Theatre, Indianapolis, IN 12 Jul 2004, Oneida Casino, Green Bay, WI 13 Jul 2004, Morris PAC, South Bend, IN 14 Jul 2004, Meadow Brook, Rochester Hills, MI 15 Jul 2004, Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, OH 16 Jul 2004, Cain Park, Cleveland, OH 17 Jul 2004, Massey Hall, Toronto, ON 18 Jul 2004, Clio Area Amp, Clio, MI 19 Jul 2004, Toledo Zoo Amp, Toledo, OH 20 Jul 2004, Embassy Theatre, Ft. For this month april i was over my current datatraffic limit (10gb) , so i had to upgrade to 25gb. i will be charged for this transaction to share and host music, photos etc from the provider another 100euros. Everytime my data traffic limit (bandwith) exceeds i have to consider building a bigger site. So for this moment i had to pay another 100e to keep my site running and for this cause i have asked fans to donate, because we all share and participate with my jewel fan site www.jewelkilcher.nl where you find cool content and nice fans :) michiel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2004 16:01:04 -0500 From: "Matt Sullivan" Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel's July Tour (Toronto date announced!) I was wondering the same thing! The only thing I can think of is the North Stage that they added last year, I think. They had David Gray and a few other people do concerts there as ticketed events after Summerfest. - ----- Original Message ----- From: Jason Hildreth Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2004 11:21 AM To: jewel@smoe.org Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel's July Tour (Toronto date announced!) Tickets will be going on sale May 8th, and this is a general admission event. There are benches towards the back, but it is served on a first-come, first-serve basis. And as for the July 12th, show at the Onieda Casino in Green Bay, YOU NEED NOT BE 21 TO ATTEND THE CONCERT, as in the case of most concerts at casinos. The casino is part of a three-part complex, and the event will be techinally taking place at the Radisson Hotel and conference center. However, in the past artists like Sheryl Crow and Michelle Branch have taken their concerts outside to a stage set up under a circus tent. This may or may not be the case with Jewel. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2004 23:38:29 -0400 From: "Chrissy Pfingst" Subject: [EDA] jessica fan's opinions of performace I copied these posts from jessica simpson's website forum. It's the opinion's of Jewel and Jessica's performance of Who Will Save My Soul. Check out the last two posta if you can;t read them all... I think it's funny that they say that Jessica was trying not to outshine Jewel, and that her range is clearly superior to Jewel's. Some people just don't get it. - ---Chrissy Here they are: wasn't too big on it. Then again, I've always loved the original. Also, if you don't watch it, and just listen, it seems better. LoL. Jessica was jerking too much while singing that song! LoL. - ------------- <3 Lexi Re: Jessica and Jewel! Posted: Apr 11, 2004 11:15 PM Reply I liked it..I think they sounded great!!!I dont really think she can help the face expressions to much.. Re: Jessica and Jewel! Posted: Apr 11, 2004 11:19 PM Reply I think she was trying too hard to sound like Jewel. She has yet to find her own voice and her own sound that we can all call "Jessica". I guess it all depends on who you're singing with but I would have much rather heard less jerking and more of Jessica's normal deep round sound. ANNNNNGGG- Try again please. Re: Jessica and Jewel! Posted: Apr 11, 2004 11:23 PM Reply I think Jess adjusting her voice suited the song and blended nicely with Jewel's...I personally don't think Jessica's normal voice would have been suitable...it would have overpowered the guitar (which was being played live by Jewel) so that needed to be heard, plus, we all know Jewel doesn't have the vocal range of Jess and if she had sang her normal way everybody would have all been like "why was Jess trying to outshine Jewel?" goes to show, you can't please everybody!!! That is a very hard thing to do (sing a cover of someone's song WHILE YOU'RE RIGHT NEXT TO THEM) and I don't think anybody here could have done a better job, so I give her props. It was classy, smooth, respectful and appropriate (minus the facial actions that is ;)) Re: Jessica and Jewel! Posted: Apr 12, 2004 3:04 PM Reply I loved that duet i thought jess sounded great, she had to sing like that if not jess would of made the song sound out of place because jewels voie is so relaxed and sweet and we all know how powerful jessicas voice is and can be, she didnt want to outshine jewel which she can do very easily, as for those wierd jerks i have no clue wat the hell that was about maybe it was because o the way she had to sing and jess is not one to sing in a low pitch because when she sang take my breath away she wasnt making none of those movements thank god lol i didnt like the show it was too chessy and i cant wait for the mp3s emily - ------------- xoxo Amanda _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected?
