I'm sure you have already read the reviews, s sorry to bore you...but he's my eperience... They were totally awesome! We got her in GREAT moods lol, ahhh i don't know what else to say lol. Oh on Friday after the show Shan, Loz, Simon and I went down to the backstage door where a van was waiting (we knew it would be for Jewel). So we were waiting and kinda hiding (because we had thought that if she had seen us, she wouldn't have come out)...anyway so i sneek a look inside and i see a cowboy hat walking towards me lol, and i got so excited! I could see Jewel, but there were like 5 security guards around her. So she comes out and we were just saying 'Hi Jewel' and stuff but she just got straight into the car....lol i was all like, well fine! So instead i said 'Hi Ty(lol), can i get a photo', and he stopped and posed for me! My camera took ages to work, so the picture is of him waving and walking away, but Lauren got a good one! Hehe, he was so cute...we were thinking it might have caused a little lovers tiff, because Jewel might have wanted him to hurry up so she could go lol. Oh well! Anyway, that's enough! Subject: [EDA] Opera House review from The Sun Herald SHOW AND TELL Jewel, Sydney Opera House (from The Sun Herald, February 22) There's no doubt Jewel relishes the opportunity to show off her vocal skills. Perhaps it was the speed yodelling (yes, yodelling) at the end of her set that drove the point home, or the soaring operatic performance she belted out for one simple reason: So I can say I sang opera in the Opera House. But her performance on Wednesday night proved one thing: even if you look like a Baribe doll, you can still experience plenty of the heartbreak. Fans of the old Jewel, the earth mother who found fame wearing her jeans, T-shirts and minimal make-up, were in for a shock when the statuesque singer arrived on stage. With her platinum blonde hair, fake eyelashes, short denim skirt and cork wedge heels, Jewel was happy to flaunt her new image: trailer-trash chic with guitar in hand. But no matter how many catcalls she received from men in the audience, the singer stood steadfastly under a spotlight and powerfully belted out her tunes about lost loves and broken dreams. There was something very poignant about hearing some of those songs, including Foolish Games and Stand. Lyrically, she sures knows how to pack a punch. Jewel is also an entertaining speaker, telling stories from across her career. Many of them were repeats of the stories she had told at an earlier gig in the Hunter Valley, but that would not have mattered to fans who hadnt seen her before. GANIA MANSOUR, 28, ROSELANDS I thought she had a fantastic voice, but she needed to get the audience going. She just stood in the same spot all night. ERIC LARSON, 40, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA I thought it was fantastic, such a beautiful setting to see it. Shes a very beautiful, talented lady. LAURA HESLOP, 15, CESSNOCK I enjoyed it. I was quite surprised by the audience participation, the way she invited the audience to suggest songs for her to play. JULIAN HURREL, 30, FAIRLIGHT It was impressive because she didnt seem to have a set schedule. She played what people wanted to hear, which was nice and personal. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know it's not that exciting, but not much Aussie stuff has been posted.... ps. I miss Jewel lol I hope us people down under don't have to wait another five years for her to come and tour again! luv Lauren - ------------------------------ *~"ThEre'S OnLY oNE RiGht WaY; & iT'S mY WaY."~* - -JEWEL _________________________________________________________________ Get less junk mail with ninemsn Premium. I had the best jewel sticker on it-- it was the oval black sticker with a purplish-blue flower of life (the jewel symbol) and JEWEL written in white. I loved that sticker and it is not sold on Jeweljk anymore I will pay whatever for it-- I want it bad if anyone has it PLEASE tell me and I will make it worth your while.
