She HAS to say that, not because of her management but because of her record company... and of course they're against bootlegging. In fact MrBB always warned us that if we pushed Jewel's management (her old management) to take any "official" stance on bootlegging they would be forced to say they don't allow it, because if they didn't her record company wouldn't be pleased about it. So he always said that Jewel, quietly, doesn't mind... but everyone else should be quiet about it too and then there will be no hassles. So yeah... this is nothing new. Jewel's official position has to be against... but we all know she doesn't really mind. She summed up just about everything I was thinking, so consider yourselves free from one of my jumbled rants. And on the thing about Jewel or her "official fan club" being against bootlegs, I freaked a bit at first too. But according to Fredsteve and a few others, I found out that from the beginning, because of legal reasons, atlantic, etc., Jewel has always been "officially" against bootlegging, like it or not. So even though she talks about it and supports it, she is "officially" against it. Know what I mean? It's always been like that, apparently. Jewelstock was an "official bootleg." Thats just from what I've gathered, its hard when you haven't been here from the start. All those reasons are the reasons that no matter what rare music or photos you had that would be cool to see, I do not visit your website, because you are 1. ripping off Jewel b/c of not getting *official*permission to record and share (I'll be the first to say I've recorded but I do not get online and offer to trade or share them, that's just putting yourself up for something like this) and 2. demoralizing her by trying to get her to pose nude? showing crotch shot pictures? invading her personal private love life? Get real, Michiel, the only fault I see with them having revoked your moderator status is the fact they didn't do their detective work earlier to find out the type of "fan" you are. Sorry that this is harsh, but over the last couple years I've grown more and more aggitated by Michiels efforts to sqaunder the values and morals that Jewel sings about in her music, and I'm happy to see this happen finally.
