Breaking up is hard to do. The last time you had to do it, here's what you did: and one of the answers was I burned him a "goodbye" CD of our favorite Jewel songs. lol, yea i'm lame, but i had to mention it cause i thought it was funny. Also, last night at a party i was talking to some people and this one girl said that people tell her she looks like Jewel (she wishes), and she said that she hates that, then this other girl was like Jewel is so awesome and she's the reason she started playing guitar. lol, ok, i'll shut up now. Happy New Year's everyone! love ya, shawney the hippie angel ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Jan 2004 01:35:17 -0600 From: Theresa Bolger Gubrud Subject: [EDA] Re: Jewel Unedited and Fansrule Just wanted to mention (although it's months away) that if you look at your initial subscription email from Jewel Unedited (Fansrule), it says that your subscription to Unedited will be AUTOMATICALLY renewed at the end of your subscription year. I just caught that looking through old emails. But thought I would pass that on to anyone who missed it (like me!!!!). I may not be renewing and for sure don't want to find a charge on a CC bill, so I'm glad i caught it now cause getting any money back from a company that's trying to reorganize will be difficult if you want to "return" it. Just thinking, a nice way to welcome someone to the list here would maybe be to each send a rare CD/show of jewel music to that person. Most of us have so much of her hard-to-find music, and I remember how hard it was to trade with others before I had much to trade with! And it seems like it would be a nice thing to do and in the spirit of what Jewel represents. We could each post on the digest what CD or show we are going to send, and that way the new person wouldn't get two of the same. Or we could just post a show to Michiel's forum and then everyone could have it. Michiel's been so generous and it just seems right and in the spirit of sharing. If I knew how to upload files to the forum, I'd post shows too. So does anyone want to tell me how to do that? By the way Ron -- this website has a list of every song AND some have links to Real Audio's of them so you can at least hear them: http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~cmgroves/Jewel/index.html The Poem Song is Wild Horse. And there is a RA link to it. Well anyway, Just a thought. See ya, T Earlier Post from a new Jewel list member: From: Ron Brooks Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: List observations I'm certainly not one of the old timers on this list. In fact I might be the newest. I joined the list hoping to find other people who enjoyed Jewel's music. Slight background music, preferably accoustic guitar, and her voice is something I have loved from the moment I heard her on the radio. My favorites to date are on the earlier albumbs when she'd add a few live recordings or the first one which itself had some live recordings. I never searched the internet for sites or e-mail groups though. To tell you the truth, I only did it a few weeks ago because I finally got a comuter that records CDs and I could accomplish the one thing I've wanted for so long...to have some live recordings I could listen to on the way to and from work. With 3 children, I cherish my one hour commute to work. I love listening to Jewel's voice as I drive. It's the only "quiet time" there is! Anyway, I sort of stumbled onto the site to join this group. I'm not much of an internet surfer. At 37, I don't know how I rank age-wise here. But, in the short time I've been on the list, I can say I have found a group of people who love her voice and the simplicity of her message and the great range of her voice. I don't know any of the behind-the-scenes info that many of you seem to know, but I'm sure I'll learn some over time. I can also say that I am delighted beyond words to have found not only some live recordings but also of somgs I never knew before! Boy Needs a Bike is now one of my favorites. It's like Christmas every time I find a new one I haven't heard before! There are some titles I've seen but haven't heard yet, like Wild Horses, but now I have so much to look forward to. It may be old hat to many of you, but to me it's like a gift that keeps openeing! The chances of me getting to q gathering are snall with so many family thiongs going on a I would not want to see Jewel in a large venue when she comes to NY. I live on Long Island. So, these live recordings are probably as close as I'll get to a live show. I've made a CD of somgs that are new to me and thank God it's a CD because I'd wear it out if it were a record! I for one, am glad you guys are here and that I've found this list. Now I can look forward to discovering more all the time, and aside from love and family, that's what life is all about!
