I mean I don't just want the songs to show off her voice, I want them to be good too so she'll be converted :) A few have been recommended by most everyone so I better include those. I'm also giving the CD to some other ppl at my work - - so I really wanna get it right :) I'd really like to include Angel Standing By live, but I only have the MTV version and I think she's sung it way better than that before, so I don't want to include it. If anyone has a really good version of it I'd appreciate that :) Almost have a list together! Wait, that was a question. I have noticed Jewel being mentioned quite often since I joined Over 6 years ago. Seriously, the reason Im still on this list is to keep up with the friends Ive made here. Although, the amount of posts by said friends has dwindled greatly. Granted Ive done my fair share of not posting nor attending some of the few gatherings that happened this year. Things change, I have to accept that. The fond memories are flooding back, someone hold me. The Quiet Angel Abel Personal Update: I get shipped to Illinois, for Boot Camp, FOR THE NAVY, at the end of March. This may make next year the first year Ill miss Bearsville (along with the following 5 years). I will try my best to plan leave around that weekend. There are pics of 7 well-known women wearing Greek inspired clothes. They gave her a nice comment. "We hear a Greek chorus of praises for Jewel's gorgeous gown." Minor Jewel aside..I was at my company Christmas luncheon yesterday and during a slide show of the ministry trip to Guatemala (to fix and give wheelchairs among other things) they played the Christmas version of Hands. I don't know how many of you are in the Rochester or Buffalo area and are looking for a job, but my company is pretty much always hiring. And if you give my name and you stay for 3 months, I get referral $. I work for Heritage Christian Services, an agency that provides services (residential and day program) for adults with developmental disabilities. Goto her official site, www.jeweljk.com, and they have a forum now. People are signing up fast. And for the loss of community in the list thread... I thought Mike was still moderator? And I agree, things change, but I think that the status of this list really reflects Jewel's career. Perhaps if she does a more "rootsy" album, more core original fans will return, who knows. She said in an interview shes thinking about making her next album a jazz/country/singer-songwriter album, if that makes anyone feel bettter? You must also take into account that the state of the internet is vastly different than it was in 95 and 96. Anyways, I'm cutting this short. The Grinch is on and everyone from Whoville is just waking up, lol. Lets forget about sad things for now. Happy Holidays, guys!
