ON dutch radio you can hear jewel a lot and that is great news. Yorinfm plays the song everyday , and that is a good sign for Stand and also on YORINFM they play a lot the song intuition! So basically Jewel does extremely well, the music she makes now is appreciated by dutch deejays. I am still confused that in America it can't break waves......such an amazing video, than you would hope the appreciation by the deejays would be better.. but jewel hasn't really promoted stand on us radio-tv with band, so basically nothing happens. jewel should provoke so now and then more, just like she did with the photobooth issue, i.m.o. that is the only way she might gets some more attention! - -- Michiel the dutch # 1 jewelfan http://www.jewelkilcher.nl ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 09:22:02 EST From: NeOblCar@aol.com Subject: [EDA] recent radio station contest Unedited recently had a trivia contest for a chance to be at several radio show tapings. BUt they never posted the winners or results. I am wondering if anyone out in EDA land happened to get invited and how it went. == Rob == "All the perfect drugs and superheroes wouldn't be enough to bring me up to zero," Aimee Mann ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 15:04:56 -0300 From: mperkis@disc.ucn.cl Subject: Re: [EDA] Louisa tabs anyone?? I have now been a member for almost two months, but have yet to recieve the autographed picture which was promised upon signing up. Both myself and many other members of Unedited have contacted your company, and we have simply been told that you were working on it. There have been people who have joined and recieved their picture, and people who had subscribed days before and not recieved anything. It is also very fusterating that Jewel's website no longer has a way to contact the people running it. Most of the members of Unedited have been with Jewel since her rise to fame in the mid 90's. We were used to having immediate responses from the "J-Team" with any of our question, comments, or suggestions. We recieved weekly e-mails, and often more frequently, from Jewel Link. We knew the people sending us those emails, and there fore they became more personal, and less "professional". There have been so many inconsistencies since FansRule took over her website that some devoted fans are questioning Jewel's appreciation for them for allowing this to happen to devoted fans. Yet another inconsistincy would be with the Velvet Rope Backstage tour. Weeks before the Velvet Rope tickets went on sale, we were offered presale tickets for her 0304 Tour. However, we were never told that we would have to pay for the Velvet Rope tour. I understand that it is now the norm to offer such a tour package, and that is fine. However, most of us bought tickets for the show with the presale. Then a few weeks later Velvet Rope packages went on sale. So many of us ended up with duplicate tickets for the show, becuase of course there are no cancallations for ticket orders. A simple post on her website could have said that there would be Velvet Rope tickets going on sale in the upcoming weeks, so not to purchase tickets from the presale if you want to take advantage of the Velvet Rope tour. And the response when I contact someone from your company...."sorry". Had most of the tour not been cancelled many of us had been in a real jam with extra tickets. Us devoted fans who have been with Jewel since her Pieces of You days are starting to question Jewel's appreciation for us. Her website has little updates, and even Unedited Members are offered barely anything as far as the website is concerned. And all your company can tell us is that it is being worked on. I am very disgruntled with this continually arising situation and expect an immediate response. Thank You, Matthew Sullivan ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 18:25:58 EST From: SullMa84@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Response from FansRule I wrote a rather bold email to a big person over at fans rule, here was the response: - ----------------------- Matthew, I apologize for the inconvenience. I have sent your email to several people to see when the photos are being shipped. We took over the club with very short notice and had to build out the website (including al back-end technology for the store), secure tickets, plan velvet ropes, etc. in a matter of weeks (usually we have several months). While this is not an excuse, it is to let you know that we do care about the fans and are trying our best to offer additional programs, etc. for Jewel's fans. Confirmation that we had velvet rope programs did not happen until after the tickets went on sale and we wanted to get some of our offerings to fans asap. The old fan management company did not fulfill all the photos for the fans, so when we took over, we needed to get the approval for the photo, order new ones, ship, etc. for all the fans who had ordered memberships earlier and also the new ones, all while tickets, etc. were onsale. We will definately be offering additional email campains, contests, to the fan club members. Thank you for your input about some of the things the last club did. If you think about your VCR there's SP and EP or something of the like that slows down the tape and makes it go from 2 hours to 6 hours. Same thing kind of here with the full length LPs going at 33 speed EP are essentially "extended singles" or at least that is how I thought of them ... something in between a 45 single and an LP. They usually had 4-6 songs on them. I remember that during the early 80's when eps were big it was a easy and cheaper way to get more material out. Anyone have a better explaination == Rob == ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V8 #462 ***************************
