Subject: [EDA] Stand debuts at #27 in Australia Stand has outdone my expectations by quite a long way and debuted at #27 in Australia. I haven't heard it a lot on the radio and I've seen the video a few times but not that much... so I wasn't really expecting it to debut in the Top 50. But it did. This isn't as good as the #7 debut of Intuition, but it's better than Standing Still's debut (and peak position) and MUCH better then Break Me, which didn't even make the Top 100. So... 0304 is overall shaping up much better than This Way in Australia, at least in the singles department!! Go Jewel! Steve. PS - Also congrats to the Australian Idol guys for their 3rd week as the #1 single, and debuting at #3 on the album charts with the Cast Album. I love Australian Idol. I recall when the 0304 reviews were circulating that one reviewer scoffed at Jewel being a top selling author one minute and then coming up with the lyric "So much violence ends in silence". Now I don't see the problem with that lyric and I wonder whether this person would also scoff at the lyrical abilites of the Irish group The Cranberries, who in their song Zombie have the lyric "All this violence causes silenece". I still say 2 Become 1 is a good choice, but that's me. If Jewel picks that song as the next single, I hope it does well!
