But they are all incredible, and my mom pull out some of her CD's of the originals and Mandy puts a cool twist of them. Hey guys, Since the ARC Top 40 updates itself every Thursday, I just checked to see how Jewel was doing. To my shock, Stand, which has been gaining a steady rise with 3 or 4 positions per week, dropped from 26 to completely off the top 40. Its nowhere to be seen. Anyone know what this is about? I just can't believe she had such a drastic drop. Anyways, all I can say is that hopefully she will get more attention at the Radio Music Awards show Monday night, and that everyone here should REQUEST STAND! Well... Stand is almost over... The song has lost its bullet at Pop and is now below Top 50 and does not look like it might recover at all. She's not doing much better at Hot Ac, she is at #36 but also lost her bullet... The video is still not in Vh1's countdown and it's a shame. MTV, of course, hasn't touched it. It seems though that Stand is doing a little better in Canada, but I don't have more details. Anyway, I still thinks that Stand was the best choice for a 2nd single and if it floped it is because radio simply don't support Jewel's 2nd singles. I know Break Me was the worst 2nd single ever, but Stand is catchy, has some good lyrics and a great video, plus it's a follow-up to a Top 10 hit. It doesn't make any sense, you know. I'm sorry if I'm being negative, but I don't see a 3rd single doing any better than Stand, whichever the song may be. IMO they should FORGET Pop and try to get a hit at Hot Ac and then, if it hits, send it to Pop. So, for a Hot Ac hit I think the best songs are 2 Find U and 2 Become 1, and between the 2, I choose 2 Become 1.
