Mike ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Oct 2003 10:31:51 -0400 From: Mgsju@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Lyon's Den Has anyone else seen or heard anything about this? I saw this on eonline.com: Pucker Off More wackiness was to be had on the set of Rob Lowe's new boob-tube job, The Lyon's Den. As I broke on E! News Weekend (in between Giuliana DePandi woman-handling my breasts--I have a call in to HR), Jewel, who was playing Lowe's love interest, will not be returning. Ever. "The producers found her wooden," pooped a mucho connected LD source. "And she and Rob did not get along." Why? "I don't know, just that there was never any chemistry between the two," said the insider. "And then she wouldn't kiss Rob for a scene--and that was the final straw. Goodbye, Jewel!" ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Oct 2003 11:48:46 -0300 From: "Fabio" Subject: Re: [EDA] Lyon's Den *I* heard somewhere that there was great chemistry between Jewel and Rob. Jewel also said everybody was very nice with her, letting her do the scenes as many times as she needed. Anyway, if it didn't work out, that's a shame... I don't think Jewel is a born actress, but she has a lot of potential. What she needs is a good director, that's why she was good in Ride With The Devil. Anyway #2, if there wasn't any chemistry, why kiss the guy? Fabio ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Oct 2003 12:05:51 EDT From: StuartnDee@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Bandmembers vow never to work with her again Heard a news blip on a nashville music network that said Jewels bandmembers have vowed never to work with her again. They said she didnt send condolences or attend the funeral of her bass player TBone Hannon even though she had the day off. It went on to say Amy Grant who was on tour at the time chartered a private jet so she and her management and band could attend TBones funeral. Does this explain why the tour was really cancelled and why she still has no band for the november shows? Is her new manager just using TBones death as a convenient excuse? My rapidly dwindling respect for Jewel takes another nose dive. Does this explain why the tour was really cancelled and why she still has no band for the november shows? Is her new manager just using TBones death as a convenient excuse? << Just some points. I recall her getting flack for not attending her grandfathers funeral. If this IS true, maybe she has some deep-rooted phobia about funerals. I have a cousin who does and has never attended a funeral, and he's 52 years old. I truly doubt he'll attend his mothers' funeral. A phobia is a phobia. I've had some deep-rooted ones myself. I am not saying this is the case here, but there are often good reasons for everything in cases like this. Also, that kind of reads like they are saying she didn't send condolences to the other band members. If that's true, why the heck should she send condolences to other band members. Maybe the blurb meant she didn't send condolences to T-Bones' family (which would make more sense as to why anyone is angry). If that's the case, it could be a screw-up of some sort. All I am saying is, this, at first, appears to be another case of things either taken out of context, things in error (and trust me, some "negative" publicity HAS often been proven wrong before on this list) or just a rumor-mill at work. Then again it could have some truth too. None the less, it's confusing as conveyed as some of it makes zero sense and some of it may be somewhat twisted. Right now this is all "early" in the news end of this and I'd not pass any judgement here. There's a LOT no one knows. Jewel has a lot of pressure upon her. If she didn't atend Tbone's funeral, I'm sure she had her reasons. Maybe if she had gone it would have been even worse, you know, maybe people would be coming up to her, trying to get something out of her and it would not help at all - she *is* a big artist after all. Plus, she does not have to atend a funeral to show respect for Tbone or anything like it. And to me, she showed a lot more respect for him cancelling the tour but still moving on with her life. But anyway, what do I know? They just planned it, and she cancelled it like that *snap*. I think by her acoustic tour, she's kind of trying to please her fans maybe, that don't think either way about the whole death of her band mate/friend. People need to stop listening to garbage and gossip and just realize that Jewel is a person just like us. We need to put ourselves in her shoes sometimes, to just understand what she's dealing with/going through to understand the bigger picture better... like, how would we feel or act in that same situation.
