Well no one has written about this yet so I wonder if I was the only EDA at the Dallas show Sunday? This was the private show where you could only go if you won tickets. My friend Corey and I were the first ones in line, which was suprising to me cause we were only like an hour and a half early. Being early definately pays off when seats are first come first serve. We chose a table front and center maybe three feet from Jewel. Maria opened, she was amazing, very humble and sweet. Finally Jewel came on, talked to the audience a while asked for requests. She chose Pieces of You because a girl had the lyrics with her. It took her a long time to figure out the chords and it was like she was making fun of the song. It's was pretty funny. After that she played Standing Still, Foolish Games, Intuition, Stand, and YWMFM. I wish I had brought a recorder! The atmosphere was soo intimate. Definately one of my favorite shows although I wish she had played more. Ty was present, as well as his stetson. Any other angels go? Write me back if you recorded it or having any good digital pics. ~Lindsey The Groovy Angel~ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Oct 2003 12:22:57 -0300 From: "Fabio" Subject: [EDA] Meet Mark An interview and some pictures: http://pr.meetmark.com/PRSuite/meet/Jewel.jsp Fabio ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Oct 2003 09:46:17 -0700 (PDT) From: DJ Subject: [EDA] California dates Hey, Just wondering if anyone knew if the dates in California were going to be acoustic also? In addition to the usual gang, I got to meet EDA Rob Hanning who's spending a few weeks travelling around the country (oddly, many of his stops just happen to be in the same places and times as Poltzy...go figure!). I was also thrilled to meet up with my old buddy Liz Clark who you old timers will remember from the early days of the list. Liz was 14 years old when she joined the EDA list and at 15 she made her older sister Shelly bring her to Jewelstock from Ohio. One of the funniest memeories I have of JS is Liz with "JEWEL" written across her forehead; only after a couple hours the "E" and "L" got rubbed off so she was walking around with "JEW" written on her. LOL. And now she's a college grad (how did that happen?!). The show itself was great, Steve was in fine form. He even ended with Dick's Automotive sung unplugged while standing on some empty chairs in the middle of the room and, since he promised partial nudity earlier in the show, he took off his shirt during the song. Yea, baby! After the show we all hung out at a nearby bar and had some more fun. John Castro was there, too, from the Rugburns. Steve left at one point saying something about going off to get a ride in a police van and sure enough about 10 minutes later I went outside and he was getting out of the van. Only Poltz. :-) amy n. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Oct 2003 20:08:47 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: Poltz show the other night Amy wrote: > I was also >thrilled to meet up with my old buddy Liz Clark who you old timers will >remember >from the early days of the list.
