Basically, instead of E, A, D, etc...you'd tune to E flat, A flat, D flat, G flat, B flat, and E flat (from lowest to highest string). If you don't have a chromatic tuner, I suggest getting one - they are much more useful than the guitar tuners that can only do "standard" tuning. I remember someone posting a link to imdb.com that said Jewel was in this "Standing Still" movie too... and I find it weird that we would never have heard anything about it in a jewelink, or on the website at all.... but from reading the rest of the interview, you'd almost assume the person got their info from jewelinks and/or *gasp* right from this list (as we've seen happen before) ~ Sandy ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Aug 2003 22:27:24 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: [EDA] FWD: JeweLink: CONCERT PRE-SALES & JEWEL ON T.V. !!!!! Hey guys, Well, I was just flicking channels tonight and caught an animated series called "Hey Joel" or something like that. I'm not sure about the channel it was on. It seems pretty low budget, and is about a guy named Joel who has a talk show on VH1 (I think so at least; this was my first time seeing it). Anyways, Jewel walked on his talk show as a guest. They didn't really have Jewel do a voice or anything, it pretty much was making fun of her. She suggested that VH1 sponser her to hold a concert to help spread in the words of the cartoon Jewel "uh... like peace and brotherhood..." and then Joel suggested it be at a prison. It all went ahead, and the prisoners were cheering and going "Yeahh! Give us the hateful b*tch that we all love!!!" and stuff. They had Jewels dressing room be the filthy prison bathroom. She said "Uh... like, Joel, I've seen some pretty bad stuff like, I like... grew up in a van in Alaksa, but this place scares me." She did go out on stage, but was upset because someone portrayed her wrongly. She said "Heyy... thats not like mee at all...." and then proceeded to beat the living daylights out of the prisoners and left the stage. That was pretty much all I saw of her. Anyways, as you can probably tell, they portrayed her horribly. Her voice was like a valley-girl high on drugs, and they really emphasized the peace and love thing in a very hippie-style way. She has wide shoulders, uber thin waist, a white tank-top, jeans, and long blonde Jewel hair. It didn't really look like her, although it emphasized the nose thing. It was pretty much This Way-style Jewel. Like I said, it was a low budget cartoon by the looks of it. Anyways, it was a crappy representation. Jewel is all for higher living and peace, but definately NOTHING like the cartoon had it. They could of exagerated how she really talks and acts instead of just making her out to be a hippie. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being a biased Jewel fan about it. I thought the "Poetry of Jewel" cartoon skit on Saturday Night Live was hilarious. It actually looked like Jewel on SNL too (besides the purple dress thing...). So there you go! Although I thought it was crappy and the cartoon was only mildly funny, it featured Jewel as a guest-star for the episode (although it wasn't REALLY Jewel, of course). Cya!
