And most of all they are often tremendously talented - they might not be signed, but that's usually because they're not mainstream enough rather than your immature idea that if they're not signed they're not talented. If Jewel still hadn't been signed today, but she was still making music and you somehow came across her, would you just ignore her talent because she's unsigned? If your answer's no, then you can't really be a very good Jewel "worshiper"... I admire Jewel for what she is and what she has ever been, not only for her songs. I am really happy with the Soul City Cafi thing, that website is really good, I love listening to the new artists and, if I had more money, I would definitly be getting some of their CDs. It's really refreshing to get some real, genuine music, something from the heart, that has nothing to do with being radio-friendly or not, this is what music should be about. I'm glad Jewel is part of it also because it's probably an inspiration for her. When you watch/help a lot of excelent acts to evolve, you evolve with them. Right now, i would wish Jewel would take a step further and make some really personal songs and not think if they are catchy, have hooks or whatever. 0304 is very catchy, but, you know, kinda superficial, even though it has some good lyrics. And, come on, Nedra does only good for the enviroment, how can you say such bad things about her?? It's ridiculous.
