Today's Subjects: ----------------- [EDA] Intuition ["Scott" ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 03 Jul 2003 23:49:49 -0400 From: "Scott" Subject: [EDA] Intuition We all should be pretty proud of Intuition. After what seemed like the end of its run (it was in the negatives on airply charts weeks ago), the song has made a huge rebound. On this week's Hot 100, it goes up one spot to #26, and on the Dance Music charts, it makes a big leap up to #3. This is in the face of a new resurgance of the song's airply which has started this week which should raise the song up a few spots on next week's chart (after stalling for the past few weeks) and make it Jewel's most successful single since 'Hands.' The radio market has changed so drastically that almost all of the top songs are Urban and benefit from Urban radio play, so Jewel's success this time around is even better. Hopefully, this will have an impact on Jewel's album sales. While many of you will be shocked by 0304's drops on the charts (#2 to two weeks of #12 to #20), this week's losses were only about 10%, which after two weeks of huge drops, means the sales should steady out, and hopefully raise. When Jewel returns to the US and does more promo, that should help (Did you see all those magazine interviews she has lined up in Europe?), and hopefully Intuition's success will propel the second single to success, keeping the album sales steady. 0304 isn't getting the holiday sales boost that This Way received, and it looks like it'll still do OK. It's pretty early, but I predict (at least hope) it'll sell even more. Jewel's not doing bad a decade in. ;) Scott (STILL hoping for Yes U Can to be the next single!!!) ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V8 #307 ***************************
