First of all, I think the Jewel: Unedited is a great idea. However, I am still annoyed about the mix up with the download cards. I spend over $20 to ensure that I received the limited edition cd that I was promised, and while I am not at all blaming Jewel's management, I'm just not sure about putting out $40 more for a year for the exclusives included with Jewel: Unedited. I hope they e-mail me the download card number soon, and I am excited to see what's it like for the free month. Ok, and about 0304: I've listened to it about 3 times now, and I honestly think it's a much different album than a "cheesy pop album" that I've been hearing many of you complaining about. I also have Christina Aguilera's cd Stripped, and the two aren't even comparable. They have MUCH different sounds, and 0304 is so unique. In my opinion, it doesn't sound like any other "pop" album out there, but I guess that's just me. Is anyone else REALLY interested in what Sean Hooks thinks of this cd? Haha, I can't even see him buying it. Anyway, that's about it. Hey Guys!! GREAT NEWS! Jewel is going to debut at #2 on next week's Billboard album chart. According to one-day sales the CD will wind up selling somewhere between 130 000 and 140 000 copies in it's first week! That's about the same as what This Way debuted with... but This Way was released during the Christmas season, where sales are generally more than they would normally be cause people are buying more. So this is, in reality, a better debut. These figures are ESTIMATES based on one-day sales. But generally they're pretty accurate. It's more likely for the album to sell more than predicted than less.... they're usually pretty conservative with the predictions. It's such a shame that Metallica pushed up the release of their CD to Thursday instead of next Tuesday. Jewel would have been #1 for sure if they hadn't done that. Stupid wimps, afraid of piracy. Oh well. #2 will be the best chart position on the USA album charts of Jewel's career. Nothing to sneeze at considering she's 10 years into it.
